I never knew how much I would miss Paul Newman. I never knew how much I loved him and I never knew him personally. But I'm blown away that he is no longer here with us. I always would watch any show or read any article if his name was involved. I would see him on a talk show or hear his voice even if it was for a car no matter, I was always relieved that thank God he is still around. Now I'm deeply hurt and sad that he isn't here anymore. But I'm trying to see it from God's point of view He wants to spend time with his perfect angel now. He was sent here and the great luck he had because God had a special plan for him. He fulfilled the plan so plentiful that God was pleased and said, "Paul come rest with me" and that is the only way I can feel any comfort about him dying. I would not want to imagine what people close to him are feeling, because I am absolutely miserable. (Sorry, but I just have to state my true feelings about the situation.) God bless Pauls' family and friends. Thank you, Marcia from Omaha

I am saddened by Paul Newman's passing more than I can say.
Those of you lucky enough to have counted him as a friend must feel such an enormous void.
I was never lucky enough to meet Mr. Newman but have held a special place in my heart for him for most of my life.
He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Paul Newman dying after his battle with lung cancer. Thank you for sharing this story about his camp and the pictures in June so we can see him just a few months before he passed away. I have been a fan of his and Joanne's forever. I still have a copy of a speeding ticket he got when he came through Baton Rouge (where I reside) in the 70's because it has his signature on it. Joanne and I are both alumnae of LSU in Baton Rouge. They are truly a wonderful couple, being married 50 years, and giving so much to theatre and charities. Eternal rest grant unto Paul, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

My dearest Martha,
It was the posting of your picture with Sir Paul Newman, that I found out he was ill. I still hoped that he would pull through. I am saddened by his passing. What a gem of a human being. What a life of distinction and class. The likes of him, very rare. We will miss him. I thank God for blessing us with such a being. The world is in mourning but I know he never wanted sympathy, or pity. He lived a full life. It will take a while, but we will celebrate 83 years of blessings, continue to give of ourselves to the service of goodness in our communities. This will honor his memory. Paul, you will be missed.
Mtee,

I just saw article about you and paul newman. my prayers are with him and his family- He is such a wonderful humanitarian. I have been reading about an ongoing cancer treatment called DCA (dichlorateacetate. there are scientists currently researching it in Alberta, Canada. because chemical is dispensed for another illness, some people have constructed a forum and it sounds like it may be effective for lung cancer.
You and his family are friends, I thought you may want to look into it for him. God Bless.

Thank you for posting the pictures from this event!
I am running the NYC Marathon with the Team Hole in the Wall, which is a fund raiser for the Hole in the Wall Camps. I had the honor of visiting the camp in Ashford, CT and it is such an amazing place.I feel honored to be doing just a little to help send a child to this fabulous camp.
Once again, thank you for posting this on your blog!
I pray that Mr. Newman's health isn't as bad as I have read recently, but my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. He is an amazing human being!
Pam
