A party at the new Juicy Couture store on Fifth Avenue
Last week I attended a really fun party in New York City, commemorating the opening of the brand new Juicy Couture store located at 52nd Street and Fifth Avenue. It was quite a colorful spectacle. The store is an amazing space, with the feel of an English Manor, and it was so colorfully decorated for this celebration. Of course, there were celebrities in attendance. Come and take a look!

Now that is my kind of soiree - 'whimsy' is just my cup of tea. I loved these pictures. Fabulous photos. You must rarely sleep.

That is a very interesting shot of St. Patrick's cathedral. Looks very "Gothic".

I find this kind of creepy

Forget the clothes! I'll take the chandelier, the orchids, and the coconut cake. And the delivery will be scheduled . . .uh, er, ahem . . .

What a fantastic looking store and they really went all out with the party decorations! You get some great invitations but don't you ever get tired? About picture #35, nah ah; we won't all be wearing tutus and sweat hoodies. I'm laughing now as I try to picture myself in one!
I can't wait to see your photos of the Fontainebleau opening celebration and maybe I'll see you at the book signing at Wolfson College in Miami on Saturday. It depends on how long I can stand without my bad knees giving out! Have a great weekend. Trish

I love the pink peonies worn on the collar. What was the theme? It's very Moulin Rouge, carnival plus mid century birthday party and it all works!

So great to see Sarah Michelle Gellar, big Buffy fan here, but awful to see her in fur. I hope it was faux!

I love all the colors of balloons! I would've loved to hear the violinists. I have always loved hearing the beautiful strings thrown in the middle of a rock ballad. So unexpected yet so beautiful!

Hi Martha, Thanks for taking us to another tour of a shop in wonderful New York City. What a fascinating new shop. The Grand Opening makes me think of a very fancy circus with ballerinas, lipsticked sheep with pearls, beautiful white horses, balloons, tutus, hooded sweats, fancy cakes, etc. What a fun time this must have been. Thanks again for sharing. Have a great weekend in Miami and enjoy your walk on the beach. Jan

Well, well, the "Juicy" theme was a great usable word...I like it. I also love the absence of a color theme, it seems that any and all colors were present... a real happy feel. Photo #1 made me a little bit nervous...thought you were using a cane b/c of hip replacement but was totally relieved when I realized all of the chorus line (including "Miss M") were sporting cane-handled umbrellas...phew! Anyway, the whole thing made me thirsty (especially the cakes) for something...you got it...juicy!

Juicy (Couture) certainly has it's distinct style, doesn't it?!!...it's colorful, too! Here in my hometown, away from the metropolitan cities in Maryland (we simply call it the "city"), I'd venture to say that most don't even know about/what is Juicy Couture. I'm happy to say, though, that I AM in-the-know! [grin] Whereas I'm a classic dresser when it comes to fashion - not trendy - I certainly appreciate and love learning about these designers' styles and their logos! I've just recently gotten into a certain brand of handbags and accessories, and I was always happy with spring/summer and fall/winter purses that I would use year-in and year-out (I take good care of things). Now?!...well,... (I don't know what happened!...but I like it, I like it!!) Mmmmm - I'm a jewelry-girl, though...mmmhmm! - lovelovelove my jewelry, and that's since I've been a little girl.
I guess we all have a little bit of fashion in us...we just have different styles (AND different shapes, AND different sizes...) [grin]
=^..^=

I am not normally a balloon fan but I love the whismy of all the colours and the huge quanitites. What an amazing party. I am longing to visit New York one day, it seems to be an amazing city visually and historically. I have been working on a comissioned painting for our new gondola here which is 4 1/2 times higher than the Statue of Liberty...while researching a drawing I got carried away reading about New York for over an hour! So interesting. http://www.snickerdoodles.typepad.com
We just posted some delish new wine picks for this winter and all are under $20!

The theme seems to be a bit like Eloise goes to the Nutcracker - New York Girl's Dreamland!
