My employees hold an art show! See their personal work!

Update: Please let me know your favorites! Leave a comment. I am traveling now out west and I should have some travel photos by the end of the week. Thanks for looking!

Last January, Erin Furey, Community Relations and Events Coordinator at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, approached me with a really great idea. As you know, we have an exceptionally talented staff at MSLO who work hard at creating our brand. But Erin explained to me that she was constantly hearing about interesting things employees were creating outside of work and she thought it would be fascinating to organize an exhibition. I agreed and an invitation was sent to all employees. Erin told me that it was really fascinating to see who responded – people she never would have expected – many who don’t even work in the craft or style departments. I even submitted some of my own photography!

Erin enlisted the help of co-workers Jean Graham and Heather Kirkland. When the date was drawing near, they worked with an amazing installation artist, Wade Kavanaugh and his team, Stephen Nguyen, Jake Borndal and Chris Morgan. Together, they planned the layout, constructed the walls, hung the entire show, and transformed the Starrett Lehigh clerestory into a most fabulous New York City gallery. It was such a fun night and I certainly agree with Erin – this art show was a wonderful gathering to celebrate our wonderful employees!
