Just for fun, Sharkey and Francesca in action!
My French bulldogs, Sharkey and Francesca are a constant source of humor for me. I find their rambunctious personalities so amusing and I’m always amazed at their energy levels and how quickly their little legs can move. Last spring, I captured them on video and I recently found that footage. I think you’ll be humored by it, too. I hope you also enjoy the photo gallery posted, as well. You’ll notice little Francesca has a bandage on her front paw. She actually injured one of her nails while tearing around the farm. Oh, the hazards of playing!

Truly adorable video - they are happy and healthy and having fun!!

Those puppies!
Posted by: Isle Dance | December 4th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
They are Martha dogs that's for sure full of energy, now a chow - a chow would just lay down and watch them play lol!
I used to run that fast in high school about 30 years ago now I am the chow who just watches the fun!
They pooped out in the end but had fun.
It sure is a dog's life for them isn't it lol! What a sweet life, full of vinegar~

Martha I just love those dogs. I just grabbed my frenchie "Zoe" and had to give her lots of kisses and hugs. She runs around the same way. Isn't it amazing how fast they are???

Dear Martha, as you mentioned they are a source of humor. So cute and energetic.
God bless

Great way to start my morning! I love animals and really love Frenchies. Silly and fun!

My son has a Boston Terrier and she is so MUCH FUN! They play so hard. She always hurts her back leg because she runs so hard. A joy to watch her with any type of ball.

It's like watching two little puppy versions of Winston Churchill frolicking in the grass, very cute.

THESE TWO ARE A MESS! (yes, I meant to shout, intended endearingly, though...) I wouldn't get anything done in a day's time if I had these two around to play with! To me, they're just a miniature form of a Boxer, the kind of dog I grew up with. (They're just carry-aroundable, that's all...[I know...that's not a real word...] )
I had a HEARTY belly-laugh when those two ran full-speed (we call that "ripping-n-tearing") under the fence rail and cleared it completely! That absolutely cracked me up! "Crazy girls!" [said here, in my high-pitched pet voice]
Poor little Sharkey - she didn't get as much face-time with the camera as Francesca, it seems... What beautiful little pushed-in/pug faces, though...
...Makes me long for my childhood pals (Libby, Marty, Dudley, & Schultz...)

Dogs are great. They take life so seriously and every moment is an adventure. And then they take a long nap.
Thanks for sharing the pictures of your dogs enjoying the day.

So cute - they are so fast and I love the way they scoot under the fence without hitting their heads. I think Sharkey is the swiftest. Anyway, I had a poodle that ran that fast and would leap into the air...we nicknamed him rabbit. Thanks for the very entertaining video of your little babies! Trish

Thanks for sharing the cute pictures and video. I think we all could use a little more humor these days.
Enjoyed it so much.

Hi Martha, Your wonderful farm is the perfect place for your very active little Frenchies. They can run, jump and play very safely to their hearts content. I love the video with the musical background and all of the photos. Such curious little girls. What were they looking for up on the fence?! It's amazing how the photos show a very serious Francesca and a very smiley Sharkey. Can't wait to see photos and videos of the girls and their new little brother! Thanks for sharing another fun blog. Hug the girls for me. Jan

Hi Martha! I have two Frenchies as well, Elvis and Clementine, who happen to be brindle and pied, just like your two. I get so much joy from having them around... they're such silly little clowns. Thank you for sharing your video. I'm excited to read about Sharkey and Francesca meeting Genghis Khan in the future!

Perfect! I loved it. I have two dogs: a small one like your two and then a really big dog. They do the same thing, several times a day. I especially like when they take the "duel" stance and I wait to see who will take off first. What a great, great video!!!! Thanks for sharing.

I can't stop watching this video! I love the wrestling moves that Francesca and Sharkey put on each other. They both move really fast (those little legs churning up the grass is priceless!) but Sharkey can out and out fly.
More doggie videos please!

I don't know, Martha...Sharkey seems to be grinning ear-to-ear like I've never seen before. Thinking it has something to do with poor Fransesca having a boo-boo. This is Sharkeys moment to be the ham and has taken full advantage of it! Both wonderful but different companions, huh?

I want a French bulldog! Sharkey and Fransesca are too funny.

While they are "staring" at each other, I think "starring" might be more appropriate for the titles. A Freudian slip, perhaps.
So love watching the pooches play....

Who knew that Frenchies had that much energy? Although Francesa pooped out way before Sharkey. On second thought, she may have just been saying, "you can run all you want, I do NOT go under fences!" Thanks for sharing!

Dear Martha,
I just wanted to let you know that I have been a fan of yours for many years, and just I love how the Martha Blog allows readers and fans, like me, to get a look into your life off camera and out from the pages of Living. Thanks you!
... Oh, and Sharkey and Francesca are DARLING. I'm curious about the inspiration behind their names...

Hiya Martha
I saw two frenchies in my neighbourhood here in Toronto this morning, I shouted across the street to the owner, hey, Martha has two dogs like yours, francesca and sharkey! He said, I know! Then I shouted, I love it! I love her! And then he shouted back, me too! - You're so darn precious, thanks for the pics, and for every episode, mag and book. What a great lady you are. Yahoo for you! That's a cute video! I think they can run as fast as my Golden Retrievers:) What a joy!

I think the reason why I love French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers so much is because everything that they do make me giggle. Thanks for sharing this video!

OH, how adorable! One gets the biggest kick out of watching those two chase around the green, thick, seemingly good-smelling grass of spring. It's not even Christmas, and the scenario is so picturesque that those of us who have "cold feet, literally, can identify with that cute pictorial!

Our puggle Sydney runs like the wind also. They are so much fun to watch.
** Sidenote: As for humans I only believe in running if you're being chased. And then if Brian Dennehey was chasing me well I'd let him catch me....lol He's much older than me but for whatever reason I find him very sexy !!
Have a great day,
Kathy

I wish Sharkey and Francesca were on your TV show ALL THE TIME! My husband and I scour your On Demand offerings (comcast) for those 2 little bugs, but we seldom find them.

PLEASE PLEASE include them more often! I know it's more work, but they're there anyway, aren't they? Show them to us! I love them SO much!!!! Love Love Love!

They are adorable. My two english bulldogs run and play exactly like those two.The bottom up look is so cute. I loved the whole movie, perfect choice of music and timed just right. I love how the white dog out ran the other and couldn't find him at the end.
Thanks for sharing!

Don't you love the way Frenchies tear around? We have a brick path in our back yard that goes through a rose arbor. My Frenchie will run around the arbor and when she gets to the brick path she will fly over it. Her little paws have never touched it.
