Great GREEN thinking Martha! You refurbished what you already had rather than purchasing something new and adding the old ones to the landfill.

Yes, with a bit of investigation I think I would have come up with a boat works establishment to refinish my plastic cutting boards too. Not. Oh wait, I know where you got the idea; you said your boards were getting dingy which reminded you of a dinghy and hence boat, right? Just kidding, Paul did a great job. They look brand new again. Could this be the same place you went for a boat ride and Franny and Sharkey talked about it in the Daily Wag? When I saw those pictures I thought maybe you were looking for a boat to use for trout fishing. I used to use a row boat or sometimes we just waded in the streams or cast our rods from the shore. Wow, from cutting boards to boats to trout fishing.

I can’t wait to watch Isaac Mizrahi on the show today. He is so funny and I like his fashions. Trish

Have you tried the new super thin plastic sheet cutting boards. Ikea used to make something similar but theirs tended to warp and become unusable. We saw some new ones at the Chicago Housewares show and have been trying them out for the last couple weeks. They seem pretty hardy and it's so nice to be able to bend them. I can't remember the website but if you're interested I can track it down for you. You're the best.

Martha
I experienced the same thing with cutting boards on my boat. I had two on the back of the boat that were used for cleaning bait and fish and they started to get deep grooves and bad stains. The rest of the boat was beautiful and I had to look at the discolored boards, made me crazy. I had a boat detailer come in and refinish the boards, they look brand new.
