My husband and I will be visiting Acadia National Park, for the first time, in September, 2010.
We'd like to hike, kayak and bike during our few days there.
Any recommendations as to where to stay, and where to eat?

I have the full belief that today is a blessing, and you're to make a point not to mess it up. I have to say you live life to the fullest, and a big cheers to that. It's always a great thing when one has afforded herself that privilege. I love this Blog because it's so down to earth, and passionate.

Was the hike long? Take a lunch or was this a walk after lunch (breakfast). Those rascal dogs did act like they might find a rabbit along the way. And why was no one wearing a hat?
Enjoyed the blog as always.
It was nice Shaun and Jen could make the trip.

My husband and I get up there often from North Carolina. We just love Maine , we stay at Southwest Harbor a beautiful little town not far from Seal Harbor where you have a house. I hope you were able to stop in for some popovers at the Jordan House resturant their great! Hope to chat again soon with you,keep up the great work you do.

What beautiful natural surroundings there at Jordan Pond, and what a beautiful day you had for your weekend outing! It was enjoyable, too, seeing/reading the girls' perspective today, over on TheDailyWag. Hopefully, you weren't feeling so frisky so as to 'puddle-skip' and get YOUR feet all muddy! [giggle] (That Sharkey! - she's a wonderful little mess!) [giggle] Well, my Martha friend, it appears to me that you're finally able to take some time for YOU, and I'm glad - you sooo deserve it after a rigorous schedule during taping season. Oh, I know...you'll still be orchestrating work/pleasure outings that will be show segments in the fall; nevertheless, me-thinks the summertime fun is juuust beginning. What a wonderful hiking spot. You have inspired me to vacation in Maine next year and visit Arcadia Natl Park. The lake seems serene and lovely.
