Photos from my book signing at Costco in Bridgewater, NJ
Costco, one of the premier American mass-market retailers, sells many, many books. I am so happy to report that they do a great job with the Martha Stewart titles. On Tuesday, July 14th, I had a two-hour book signing for my latest book, Martha Stewart Cupcakes in the Bridgewater, NJ store. It was a very successful event and we sold over 760 books! Just as I suspected, people simply love cupcakes!

I bought the cupcake book the last time I was in Costco in Portland, OR. It was a great bargain.

I wish I lived closer but I'm in Arkansas so the book signing was out of the question for me. I watched your show on cupcakes a couple of nights ago and really enjoyed it. Keep on doing all the "good things" that you do!

Glad to hear so many good folks turned out for you Martha!
Hope you will come to San Diego, California some day and sign all our treasured "Martha" books too!
Best,

It's really fun to see the Costco "interpretation" of Martha's cupcakes. Somehow, I can't see Martha using quite so bright colors for icing!
Also, I'm not sure where to put this, but webmaster, can you fix it so that the ad on the right side of the page doesn't overlap the photographs? Whenever I click on a photo to enlarge it, the ad shows up on top of the picture (even after it's played -- using IE8).

How lovely, I guess it is so wonderful to see all your books fans. Everyone looks so friendly & I love the aprons! It looks like a great day.

Hi Martha!
How's that forearm!?!
This particular group ('wrapped and woven' so-to-speak) seems to have made this book signing *anything* but boring!
I really loved that the two ladies wore their mother's vintage aprons! And what's the story on the boots!?!...cute. But how special it must have been to be 'the last' person in line to have your signature!
A very cool cupcake book signing! And congratulations!

So that’s where all the people from our Costco went – to New Jersey to get their Martha Stewart’s Cupcake book signed! But they most likely returned to New York and the rest of the northern states as well because our Costco is rather quiet now for the summer. There’s lot of activity on weekends and holidays but I think July 4th was the last until Labor Day.
Anyway, congratulations on your very successful day, but I’m not surprised. That is one gorgeous and inspiring book which I, a rare sweet eater, even bought a copy. I do plan to make the pistachio/raspberry teacakes which you also made on the show this week but I’ll make others too to give away like maybe those adorable Creepcakes for Halloween. This is a very beautiful book, Martha, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it sold almost as well as Entertaining but all of your books are extraordinary, the best on the market in my opinion. Keep them coming! Trish

You look fantastic! Even at end of the day. Amazing! You truly RULE.
How do you keep fresh and bright like that? I have my very first art show soon and I find it very inspiring to see you hold it together so well. Any tips?
If you happen to be in Loveland, Colorado, Aug. 7th-9th, please come say hello to me in Tent #4 at the Loveland Sculpture Invitational. There are two very HUGE sculpture shows going on at the same time in Loveland, right across the street from each other. I would LOVE to see you there, Martha. If you are a fan of Martha's and you stop by, make sure to let me know!
Take a look at my new Facebook page to get a sneak preview at my new sculpture.

Thanks again Martha for being an inspiration. When I get frustrated or tired and need a boost, I think about what you have done in YOUR life and it refuels me.

PS Martha, where is your official fan page on Facebook? There are so many listed under your name, it is hard to tell which one is really yours. Thanks.

This has nothing to do with the post, but I saw your recipe for your aunt's potato salad on Comcast on Demand and had to make it (and I don't cook). It came out very well, and I even had a liverwurst sandwich with it.
Thanks for the recipe.

I was wondering if you will be coming to Manhattan for a book signing! Please do because many of your fans would come and would love to meet you

It looks like a great book. The lines are impressive. I wonder why it was not posted on your website. Do you have any other signings planned for the summer months? I had such a good experience at the Brimfield Antiques and Collectibles Show that a friend is taking her two teen daughters on Saturday. I love that calendar section of Living. The snickerdoodle recipe from the Baking Handbook has been a great hit amongst my friends. Most of the cookies have been snapped up. Summer weather has arrived. My gardens - flower and vegetable - are loving the heat and sun!

Hi Martha
Would you ever consider coming to a Cosco here in Canada. We live in Burlington, Ontario where there is one. That would be really great and fun if you did!
Love your show.

Hi Martha, What a wonderful book signing at a fantastic store-Costco! Your books are my favorites and I have quite a few. I've been trying to find all of the ones I don't have, as well as waiting for all of your new ones. Costco is my favorite place to shop. I get many of your books there plus Everyday Food and Emeril's books. I have an Amex/ Costco Executive card, also. If you use an Amex/Costco Executive card to pay for your purchases, you get 2% back at the end of the year. If you use the Amex/Costco Executive card when dining out and buying gas at a Costco gas station you get3% back. For traveling, you get 2% back. If you use the same card any where else it is accepted, you get 1% back. All of that adds up and you get a rebate check to use at Costco. I find it very worthwhile to use that card when ever I can. You also get coupon books at least once a month, their magazine and other benefits. Sure hope you enjoy using your card as much as I do. Hope you can come to a Costco in Seattle for a book signing. That would be terrific!! There are quite a few in the Seattle area. Have fun in Maine. Jan

Long table full of books, people waiting for a signing.
Big crowds,avid fans,quiet anticipation,no whining.
Up and down aisles of Costco, cameras clicking madly.
Making friends, lengthy wait, no one acting badly.
Bye the time they get to Martha, they've finished reading.
Curiousity is ripe, their intellect they've been feeding.
Three happy bookers, that's Mary,AnnMarie and Gail.
Beautiful machine embroidery,signature can't fail.
Jane/Karen,vintage aprons and "I love Martha buttons".
Already a Martha fan,10wk baby Ava, sayin' nuttins.
The cool cat Colemans, with hat and shoes to die for.
A junior fan with a cupcake t-shirt a must to cry for.
A charming group of generations,Mother Pike's family.
Leave it to an Irishman to climb up on your knee.
We'd walk a million miles for one of your smiles
Martha,you rule,inspire,advise,teach and beguile.
As long as you know,i dont consider myself a poet,i'm not smart enough. Just a modest rhymester.

Martha, your recipes for today sound and look great... Unfortunately I cannot have any shell fish but the salad sounds great. How are the potatoes in Maine? I have heard you have never had a really good potato until you have had a potato from Main... is that true?

Hi Martha,
So sorry your book signing and road trip travels won't be bringing you near the N. Grafton exit to Tufts on your return from Maine.
Oncologists and I, as I said on Twitter, would love to talk ANIMAL with you. Fabulous strides in animal cancer are also benefiting human cancers these days. Ask us about the BAYER study for an osteosarcoma vaccine at Tufts in conjunction with famed Boston hospitals serving you and me. Ask 'Professor,' Founder of NCSA, who was invited to be part of that study. Hear from Tufts, Angell, Nevog, your friends at Smith Ridge, Animal Cancer Foundation, University of Colorado and on and on----Most of all, hear from all of the animals we've networked in and out of all of these facilities as they held onto life just a little bit longer.
Please ask questions for EVERYONE'S benefit. I've been telling you Professor's story for 4 years now. There's a skyful of animals looking to your world sized heart for a voice.
Hope you can take that exit, next road trip maybe?

Oh Martha, I remember when I visited you in Westport for cooking classes. It was March 1986, and I brought all of your cookbooks up until then, you were working on "Weddings", and I asked you to sign all of my copies and your remarks were "anyone that was crazy enough to drag all of your books to Westport deserved to be signed." Thank you for great information that week, and your signature on my "First Addition" books. Wish I could visit again!

Hi Martha,
I always seem to miss your personal appearances at book signings and such. Do you post them somewhere on your website? I live in Bergen County, so I am very close to NYC.
Thank you!

OK, honest to a fault here. Didn't buy the cupcake book YET, but I did buy the crafts book. My favorite book, however, is your Housekeeping Hand Book. I wish I could tell everyone how important it is to have this marvelous encyclopedia. It has gotten me out of trouble with so many problems. It's also gotten me to buy things, oh, like the Miele Rotary Iron, which I saw in your laundry room photo, many pots and pans, and so forth. But you REALLY did it when you demo'd the Pfaff Creative Vision on your show when it came out almost two years ago. I actually bought it the day I saw the re-run, as though it was a message to me from "above". I've never regretted it, with the dual feed, the hundreds of stitches, and the way it embroiders so beautifully. On your show, you were making the pillows with the grand hoop's design. We have those pillows now, and they are exquisite. Uh, and this all started with . . . cupcakes. . .

My mom, who is the membership manager there, was so excited to grant you your executive membership that she emailed me in Thailand (where I currently live) to tell me! She always said my goal in life was to be the next "Martha Stewart," but I have a long way to go before then! Congratulations!
