Your photographs in Provence bring back wonderful memories of sitting quietly in a lavender field and listening to the buzzing of the bees around the lavender in bloom . If I could I would live in the middle of a lavender field forever , sounds like a song the Beatles sand , just a thought.
Martha I hope your memories of colors, aromas , and yummy food from Provence brings you more inspiration. Hey can you post a simple recipe for macarrons?
Take care,
Ive

Just got back from a trip to France. Went to see the incredible La Bastide de Moustiers--on your recommendation. We went via the Cayon du Verdon which made the trip even more spectacular . Its a place full of quiet and beauty. I will have to return to paint it some day. Thanks for sharing it.

Hi Martha, What a fabulous blog! I agree that these photos show the most beautiful parts of southern France and seeing them from the helicopter IS really like seeing Heaven on Earth. Thanks so much for sharing this-it's just so stunning. I have always enjoyed seeing other people's home movies and slide shows and yours are The Best. Your fifth season premier today was wonderful. Can't wait to see the next show about your Home Depot deal. It is really exciting to know that you will have products available at Home Depot. Will you have your fantastic garden tools available there also?! I sure hope so!!! Thanks again. Jan

I was all ready to watch the new show today and it wasn't on!! WXIA in Atlanta has moved your show to 3:35 am!! Unbelievable! I complained to the station, but don't know what else to do. I can't watch at 3:35 am and your show was one of the highlights of my day. I feel like I have lost a good friend.

...and I'm so very glad you arrived back home safe-n-sound, my Martha! What breathtaking views and vistas, and what a memorable trip!
~
I absolutely loveloveLOVE lavender. I have ONE plant (yes, only one), which seems to be an adequate quantity, as it is huge, being in a sheltered area from the dessicating winter winds. It is housed in a favorite albeit small cottage garden. When I squeeze between the picket fence and overgrown, spilling-over beds (there are only 2 triangular beds) to trim the grass boundary, the lavender just exudes its wonderful aromas on a sunny day. The sweat on my brow seems all-in-all worth it, just to take in the sweet smells and be amidst all the bee activity. This bed houses a birdbath as well, and even though this little garden is jam-packed (to me), the birds LOVE this area! They can sit on the pickets, or sip from the bath on a trusty and solid piece of limestone placed in the middle, to lend sure footing for my feathered friends. (I REALLY want a dragonfly to perch on that rock!...I've been wishing and wanting...)
~
This trip was just wonderful, and I can ONLY imagine all the heady aromas emanating from those fields! Thanks as always for 'takin' us along'!
~
Lots of love,
