Hello Martha,

I have my student interns working on a campaign of similar note that I tweeted you about.
.
I will take my AN EVEN DOZEN Campaign for my charity's 12th year AND DO A MATCH PLAN to benefit your request. I believe everyone I reach can participate within the dozen dollar category.
.
For every one of my donors who wishes to write a dozen dollar check to National Cancer Society for Animals, they must write half of it to your campaign.
.
My reasoning? I like that you keep lists, work round the clock, have an appetite for a jungle full of preoccupations and can handle Jay Leno with a head shake!
.
Truly, whenever I'm down to nothing and give even that away, good things return. I look forward to turning my college students lose on this one, for my animals with cancer AND with endearment for the mothers we both had -- once upon a time.

Hi Martha, Thanks for the great photos of your beautiful Mom and some of those at your Center for Living. I feel it is one of the best projects that you have done so far. What a thoughtful place to develop to help the elderly in your area. I sure wish I lived close enough to go there if I needed help. A great place! I hope you have a super day on Nov. 10th (and every other day, too!) and the donations keep coming in. Your Mom is very dear to me, also. My wonderful Mom was only 11 days older that yours and how I wish she could have gone to your Center for Living. In my heart, I feel she could have lived much longer if she had the kind of care that is provided there. Thanks for your very special Center for Living. Jan

I will donate in honor of my late mother who passed away in 2005 & my late father who passed this summer. I saw firsthand through caretaking responsibilities how incredibly strong the mind-body connection is. It's vital to have services like you are providing.

My brother is a geriatrician and I am a pediatrician. Despite the difference in ages for our patient population, I see a lot of similarities to what we do. One of the principles of the American Academy of Pediatrics is to have a "medical home" for all patients, and I think this applies to older patients as well. Best wishes with your Center for Living initiative.

You're exactly right, Martha! - if ALL of us could contribute just $1, each of us CAN make a difference! That really helps to put things into perspective! We, by nature, think that we can't make a difference (or we don't have the money), but with your number of followers on Twitter alone (1,650,000+!!), $1 each can surely be spared! Even a couple hundred thousand of us could make an impression!

How wonderful Martha....

My husbands Mother just turned 93...she is amazing she bought a new laptop and emails everyone in the family !!! She still lives in her own home, Bless her heart !!!

I really admire you with all the struggles you have been thru. My Niece was one of the lawyers on your case she always talked very highly of you and she said you were kind to her. I look to you for some strenght I am going thru a very difficult time. I have made mistakes in my life I regret deeply and hope I can display the same grace you do. Alice
