More of my trip to Las Vegas - have a look at my amazing suite at the luxurious Wynn Hotel
You may remember a recent blog about a book signing that I did at Williams Sonoma in Las Vegas. I realized that I had other photos from that trip to share with you. We flew into Las Vegas on the evening of December 7th, after spending a wonderful day in Washington DC, visiting the Blair House and the White House. We checked into the luxurious Wynn Las Vegas and had a fun night out. The next morning, I made a surprise appearance at the MGM Grand, where a sales meeting of Glidden was taking place. Glidden (AkzoNobel) is the paint manufacturer for our Home Depot line of Martha Stewart paints. The Martha Stewart Living paint palette will consist of 280 handpicked colors created by me and the MSLO design team. All colors will be available in interior and exterior paint in four interior and two exterior sheens. My new paint line will be available at The Home Depot stores across the U.S. and Canada in March 2010. It was fun crashing the meeting. Please enjoy these photos.
31 The suites are adorned with replicas of pieces from Steve Wynn's acclaimed art collection - A Picasso.
33 No one was expecting me at this convention at the MGM Grand, so I decided to make a surprise entrance and I even brought chocolate cupcakes!
34 Erik Bouts - CEO of Akzo Nobel and Lyne Castonguay - Home Depot VP of Merchandising were discussing the partnership between Glidden, The Home Depot, and MSLO.
37 Color is one of my favorite subjects and I shared that fact with the group. I also explained how color can truly transform a space.
38 We produced a really great story in my magazine about painting furniture white and it became a very popular thing to do - dressing up drab furniture with a fresh coat of white paint.

For Martha's Christmas Blog
.
.
Come, as we gather on this Day
We can't forget the little Babe
That, so special in His Manager lay
Unaware this world He had to save.
.
.
To those who live in Righteousness
Lest you forget the sinner
Heaven reserves a space regardless
Whether ancient or beginner.
.
.
So we gather all around the tree
Enjoy the feelings that come to pass
When shared with friends and family
Encouraged it will last long after Christmas.
.
.
For those who can't make it home
We will hold our glasses high
Keep an empty seat in case you come
And hope to see you bye n bye.
.
.
To those we won't see again
They will always be a part
Of all our memories that reign
Forever and ever in our heart.
.
.
.
Merry Christmas to one and all.
And "God Bless us every one." Dickens.

I loved your enthusiasm for the bed; I can imagine you bouncing on it (if not jumping) to "test" it. Thanks for your enthusiasm in general.

Why did you change from Lowes to Home Depot paints ? New color palette or "old" colors with new names ? Confusing .... - I`ll stay with the Mythic Brand : NON TOXIC, ZERO VOC, ULTRA LOW ODOR , they mix from any color palette !!!!! Great results and for somebody like me, who loves to paint.....Perfect ! Think about a happy (colorful) & healthy (NON TOXIC) home. ! Happy Holidays !!!!!

Martha,
I once stayed in a room like that here in Boston, The Liberty Hotel. http://www.libertyhotel.com/
My husband got a room for my b-day weekend but it was not ready and was not ready for hours. So the very kind manager put us up in the Presidential Suite with great views of Boston and over 2,000 sq. feet - all for the rate of our "common man" room. So for a night I lived like you do. My mini dachshund did pee the bed that night which I thought was funny. No worries they had a protective cover on the matress. I'm sure that was very tame compared to past events in the Presidential Suite. When in Boston you should stay there. I loved the mohair sofa in the room!

Hi Martha,
The Wynn Las Vegas is beautiful and I loved the view from your suite.
~
I've been holding off painting until your paint arrives at Home Depot, my favorite store. Even if colors are the same as at Lowes, they'll be new to me because I didn't and still don't shop there. I might also get some of your patio furniture since my last set got ruined in a hurricane. The screening over the pool came down on it even though it was stored in a smaller patio off my bedroom.

That was a cute segment on Jimmy Fallon the other night. He's a character. Enjoy your day and your trip to Bangkok. My son was planning to go there but postponed until he had more time - went to Costa Rica instead.

Merry Christmas to you and your family and to all who visit your wonderful blog! Trish

I love your surprise visit. I bet that both Erik and Lyne had momentary heart flutters when you popped in!
I can't believe you haven't mentioned your most recent appearance on the Jimmy Fallon show Monday night. I came across it on Hulu http://www.hulu.com/watch/117048/late-night-with-jimmy-fallon-mon-dec-21-2009
and it was extremely funny! I think you should invite Jimmy along with you to Bangkok. Oo la la what fun the two of you would have there!

Hi Martha, Wow, what a fabulous blog about your trip to Las Vegas and staying in the glamorous Wynn Hotel. I have never been to LV and your photos of that area were spectacular. Staying in a fantastic place like the Wynn Hotel would be well beyond my means, but now I feel like I have been there thanks to you. That twitpic of your new Chow Chow was absolutely wonderful. Is he at home with you and what did you name him?! What a wonderful Christmas gift!!! Best wishes for the holidays to you, your animals and everyone around you at home and at MSLO. Love, Jan & DDR

We love to visit Las Vegas in December. We always plan the short drive up to Mt. Charleston. There is usually snow on the mountain in December and horse drawn sleigh rides. The Wynn is a beautiful addition to the city. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas.

I've been to business conferences, Martha, and most of them can drag a little at times. A surprise visit by a celebrity bringing chocolate cupcakes --- that's a Memory Maker !! I must say with great admiration, you know how to do it best and make everyone happy. For you, I wish the very best of everything good for the New Year 2010. Thank you for all the delightful inspiration you bring to us. The world is a better place with Martha Stewart in it. Hurray !

Thank you for the lovely hotel photos and book signing. I was at your book signing at Williams-Sonoma. Waited in line to see you, meeting some great people in line! I am from Michigan and was staying at the Venetian while my husband went to a conference. And I brought a gift for you which hopefully you received - handmade glass lampwork appetizer set from my little business, Beaver Island Jewelry. You were so nice at the book signing and it was a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for all you do to help make our lives a little more pleasant!

NEW YEARS EVE
.
Now, here I am, back from Singapore and you're leaving for Bangkok. For years I've wanted to phone the butler and say, "Oglethorpe, put Maynard on hold. I'm detained in Bangkok!"
.
Wish you knew me well enough to say, "Wells Jones Spencer Crane, put a bookmark in whatever you're doing. You'll be dining in Bangkok!" But I guess it's Boston for WJSC wouldn't you say.... MHS..aye aye?!
.
Have fun without me!
