A Delicious Breakfast and Shopping at The Home Depot
On yesterday’s blog, I shared photos with you about arriving at Skylands and how we spent the evening. Saturday was scheduled as a workday in the garden and a container-planting day on the terrace. After rising, my guests and I were treated to a wholesome breakfast made by Pierre. I was sure to have packed plenty of farm-fresh eggs from my chickens at Bedford. I don’t know what it is, but food always tastes so good at Skylands! Following breakfast, we drove to nearby Ellsworth to purchase some plants at The Home Depot before the hard work began.
For breakfast on Saturday morning, Pierre made us a delicious fried egg, tomato, and cheese creation.
Pierre also poached eggs.
He also fried up some smoky bacon and toasted Balthazar bread.
Gretchen and Cheryl's homemade apricot jam
And their wonderful plum jam, too!
Refreshing fresh squeezed orange juice
Here I am standing outside The Home Depot in Ellsworth, Maine, about a 40-minute drive from Seal Harbor.
I really like shopping at The Home Depot for all sorts of practical items.
My Bedford garden crew really likes these latex coated gloves because they have excellent grip and are very flexible.
The Martha Stewart mirror line is selling very well.
And here I am standing in front of the Martha Stewart Living line of fabulous kitchens.
All of the carpets in my carpet line are handpicked by me and coordinate beautifully with my paint options so that you can create a harmonious scheme throughout your home.
It was nice meeting Wade, Steve, and Tom who work in the flooring department.
The Martha Stewart paint palette includes 280 beautiful colors in 4 interior and 2 exterior sheens.
You can buy paint testers, which come in an easy-to-use bottle with a built-in brush and enough paint to cover up to 16 sq. ft. so you can feel confident about the color you've chosen.
Our color key symbols at the top right of each color card helps you coordinate colors easily.
And look who I found lounging on one of my many styles of outdoor furniture sets! - Kevin, Ian, and Kate
The Garden Center Hours Mon - Sat - What about Sunday?
I really liked this red Japanese maple.
There was a wonderful selection of palm trees and other tropical plants.
The very helpful Vileta was thrilled to see us shopping.
Vileta wanted a photo taken with me, too.
Can you tell that Mindy likes pink?
Mindy did a fine job of painting her apron with cherry blossoms!
Matt and I shared a laugh.
I was very impressed with the selection of plants.
Beautiful hydrangea and a a nicely formed evergreen topiary
Pretty impatiens
Lovely white bleeding hearts
Posing with Tom and Matt
I liked the spiral shrubs.
Finally, all set to pay.
I ended up buying these Japanese painted ferns for the terrace at Skylands.
