My Latest Appearance on The Home Shopping Network in Tampa
Last week I traveled to Tampa, Florida to appear on the Home Shopping Network (HSN), with members of our Craft Department. Once again, we were there to promote some of our wonderful crafting tools and supplies. Although these punches are unique to HSN, my crafting supplies can also be found at Michaels, Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts, and many independent craft stores. Whenever I visit HSN, I am amazed, but not surprised, at how many of these crafting items we sell. These are great products and these sales are indicative of all of the crafting enthusiasts worldwide who are searching for well-made, well-priced, practical, precision tools and papers, to create crafts that are most unique and beautiful.
1 Since we were in St. Petersburg for HSN, we had to make a stop at the beaches in the area. Look at beautiful Clearwater Beach!
2 We decided to check out Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill, a local favorite, which also received high ratings on Zagat. It had a perfect outdoor seating area right next to the beach.
3 Kristin St. Clair from our crafts department, who joined me on HSN, was ready for a good meal after a long morning on air.
4 This is Diana Chen, product manager of crafts, she was thrilled to be near the beach since she wasn’t able to get to one all summer.
7 After a long morning in the TV studio, I, too, was thrilled to spend some time by the beach here in Clearwater. It was a great change of scenery.
13 This is the table for our HSN autoship! Our crafters did an amazing job using our punches to create all these different projects!
14 This is our November autoship – look at all the different projects you can do with just 3 punches - Scrapbook pages, cards, tags, candy wrappers, and great decorations for gift boxes!
15 Here is the February autoship – Look at the detail on the gift bag using our Rings and Arches Deep Edge Trim punch.
16 Our April autoship – My favorite idea is using punches to create napkin rings. It can really bring personality to the table and you can change up the colors to create new looks.
17 This card was created using all three punches from the November autoship - The Nested Petals Deep Edge Trim and Petal Lace Punch Around the Page (PATP).
19 An up close picture of the gift bag - Look how you can transform a plain white bag! If you look closely, the owl is made up of parts of the punched out shapes - how clever! Always save the scraps when punching!
20 Our punch designs make great ribbons for gift boxes. This was created using the corner punch from the Teardrop PATP set. It is so pretty, you may not want to open it!
21 We love the clover PATP design here. The way the clover stands out of the design is rare - Typically a challenge for other punch brands because it's hard to engineer, but we did it! This is why our punches are of the best quality and we always think of our crafters first and foremost when we design.
22 These projects were part of our Today Special, which sold out! It was an exclusive world launch on HSN, a total of 10 brand new punches.
23 You can use our punches for home décor, personalize your calendar, use it as a photo backer or create a stencil to decorate your home items, like this pillow.
25 We used these flash cards to show the customers watching what the finished product of our punches are so they know exactly what they are getting.
29 This is our new Crafter’s Clay, which is incredibly lightweight - almost like a marshmallow - and it air dries. Kristin did a wonderful job using this clay to free-form these polar bears and igloo!
30 More Crafter’s Clay - You are able to get intricate detail using this clay with our molds. They're great to use as embellishments. The instructions in the kit also teach you how to create the rose bouquet that you see on the table. It's easier than you think!
37 This Christmas card was created using our beautiful snowflake deep edge trim - Much more personal than buying cards from stores!

Wow Martha!!! What a lot of fun stuff. Is the only place you can buy it on HSN?
My youngest brother just moved back from FL the end of July. When he first moved down there, he lived in Clearwater. Then, he moved to Pinellas Park, and lived there all these many years. He was in law enforcement.
It is a beautiful area..in places.

Your line of craft products are the best Martha, I'm not surprised they were selling out on HSN. I've learned if I see one of your craft tools I want in Michaels I better snatch it up! The sand at Clearwater Beach looks so white and inviting and your lunch at Frenchy's Rockaway Grill looked delicious, I love fish tacos. Thanks for sharing your trip to Florida and HSN!

Martha,
A friend called and I got in on the last of the HSN show and was able to order the 10 piece set. I have a small card business and make about 2500 hand made cards a year, and am hooked on your punches. Laura, or the powers that be, can you e-mail me with how I can get on an e-mail list to be notified for the HSN shows. I have never watched this network, and probably only would for Martha. I am Basil's Mom, Lynn, on the Daily Wag. Any help or info would be great. Have a great day all.
Many Thanks,
Lynn

Hi Martha, Thank you so much for sharing this delightful, colorful blog about your visit yo HSN in Tampa last Thursday! I was able to watch all of it and you, Alex, and Kristina did such a fantastic job showing so many terrific craft items! As usual, there were many calls from your fans and they made delightful comments! It was also great to see Diana Chen, Daisy S., host Colleen Lopez, and photo #7 of extremely happy, you! All of these photos are stunning! Those photos of the Clearwater Beach are awesome! I have never seen such beautiful white beaches and Frenchy's Rockaway Grill sure was a great place to eat and your food choices sure looked delicious! Every one of the photos of your craft items are absolutely outstanding and watching all of you use the craft items was awesome! All of us learned a tremendous amount watching this event! In your last blog, I said I had potted leaves of pansies and that was wrong-they were African violets and they turned out beautifully! Hope you have another great day! Off to check The Daily Wag about "Shagbark Hickory-Another Amazing Tree!" Jan

Your punches and craft tools are definitely in a world of their own and you guys always present them in the most beautiful way. Not only are the designs uniquely fantastic but all of the products you and your crafters made and had on display were so impressive looking; the bows, the stenciled pillows, the cards, the scrapbook pages! After one of your sessions, another person came on with something that seemed to be the only thing on the table and she demoed how she got a design and all I could think was, ‘what the heck is she selling.’ Not so with your punches though, people buy them not only for the unique design but for GREAT quality and your tables are always filled with finished crafts to show us what we can do with them. (I’m all for the book idea too – how about Getting Punchie with Martha!) Just kidding! Or another show on PBS where you show us the various craft projects we can do with your punches which of course you would be selling to us and we would be buying. In my opinion, this may have been one of your best demos and I enjoyed the rapport between seller and buyer with each call that came in. Their testimonies were proof that there is no age limit on who uses those punches. I had to refrain from buying but believe me; I wanted everything you guys were selling. Maybe I can get that butterfly punch later.
~
Later on the last night you were on, I got out my double-trim-link punch just to practice on some craft paper and after going half way around a page, I thought I had broken it. The handle just sort of dangled and I couldn’t get the paper in. It so happens I let my pile of clippings build up too much and without anywhere to go, they piled up in the cutting part. What was I thinking! Anyway, after I cleaned out the scraps, I gave the handle a little tug and it bounced right back into working order. Boing! It’s nice to have ‘toys’ that even I can’t break!
~
Just one more thing – I think Daisy does the best job of all your make-up artists from the past. You look so natural, the way make-up is supposed to look. Trish

Love your paper punches. I actually love all of the craft products your company has. You have a wonderful staff. I hope to see you again soon on PBS. Love your show and can't wait to see you on TV again.

I am also in a panic! Where is the Martha Stewart show? It was not on the Hallmark Channel this morning. When will it start? Is it going to be on PBS now? What time? Please post the information on your website or your blog.

Saw you on HSN last. Always enjoy it. There is a halween punch set called haunted fence large punch around the page and it comes with a crow and branch all around the page. Last year you had a haloween set and the lage edge was called creepy fence. Looks just like the edge punch set in the haunted fence set. Is it the same? and or how can you buy just the corner if it is the same?
Thanks, Sue

Great show. I caught part of it. Always interesting to watch and see what you and your crew have come up with. Love the punches. I have many already. On a separate topic, I am making your No-Bake Cheesecake this weekend. I am hosting a birthday party for my friend Bev. I wanted to make a cheesecake for her special day and I wanted a No-Bake recipe. Actually, I think I've made this cheesecake before. Well, no matter. It will be delicious and I cannot wait to serve it. So much to do to get ready for this soiree on Friday evening. She is driving from Erie, PA to Cheverly, MD (in the Washington, DC suburbs) during the day on Friday. Martinis, and another favorites of mine, your fresh guacamole, will be waiting on her.

The new products are amazing ! So glad the stamps are packaged together, I will be making my own cards this year. When I receive homemade cards, I always keep them. A very good friend and talented artist always made her own Xmas cards and I still have them. Unfortunately, she passed away at a young age and I'm so glad I have her cards to remember her by.

I was so excited to see you and your team on HSN again! I happened across one of your shows on HSN last year and it really inspired me to work on my scrapbook more and now I am starting to make cards. Your punches are amazing and my collection of them is growing.
I recorded all the crafting shows on HSN that day and have watched yours multiple times - I get new ideas or see something I didn't notice before every time I watch. You are so creative and you have such a fabulous team - watching these shows is education for everyone who watches. I love what Alex said about punching in place of doodling - I'm afraid I couldn't get away with that in meetings but I think it is an excellent example of his creativity flowing.
Thank you for posting the pictures of your trip! It is neat to see what goes on back stage. It is great to see the pictures of items made with your punch set too.
I would love to see a magazine or spot on your website with more punch inspirations - like on the shows where there are examples of the many different things you can do with a punch.
Thank you for all that you do! You are creative inspiration!

Hi Martha,
Thanks for being an inspiration to me throughout the years. I am a huge fan of your breathtaking 153 acre farm in Bedford, NY. One of my favorite hobbies is creating projects with yarn and I am in love with Martha Stewart Crafts with Lion Brand Yarn collection. This beautiful yarn comes in so many fabulous colors and the quality is absolutely superb. I thought I would challenge myself and create an original craft project that I can enjoy for many years to come. It took me several weeks along with many late nights and several skeins of wonderful yarn to complete my project. The result is a beautiful picture called "Martha's House" depicting Martha's 1925 farmhouse (also called the Winter House) and Martha herself holding a wicker basket of her fabulous yarn. I made Martha a yellow summer hat, a blue sweater, blue pants and an ultra plush green scarf. My project also includes pink flowers, grass, sun, blue sky, blue curtains and a large circular stone that is between the rhubarb tile sidewalk. I finished my project by making a green crochet chain and weaved it as a border. Then I took one 48 inch 7/16 wooden dowel and cut two 22 inch pieces, placed each dowel straight across the top and bottom of my the back of my canvas and weaved it into my project with yarn. I took two pieces of yarn and tied it on to each corner of the dowel so I can hang it as wall art. I utilized a clear plastic canvas as my base and worked in each individual square with yarn. The finished project measures 22 inches long X 13 inches wide. I also utilize this plastic canvas for a plethora of other projects such as handbags (interior structure) and innovative latch hook designs. I believe if Martha saw my beautiful craft project she would love it and say it's a "Good Thing!" "Martha's House" currently hangs proudly on my craft room wall. Every time I look at my project it will inspire me to create many more craft projects with Martha Stewart Crafts with Lion Brand Yarn. Have a yarnlicious day!
Check out this fabulous project @
