We're Read Internationally!
Did you know that my company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, has a growing portfolio of international magazines? Well, this exciting international growth began in 2008 with the Polish edition. Since then, Martha Stewart Living has expanded to Thailand, Indonesia, Turkey, Dubai, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Germany, China, Australia, Czech Republic with launches coming in Mexico, France, and The Netherlands in late 2013. This all started from my travelling abroad and meeting many people who love our magazines and wanted them where they live.
Working within licensing agreements, each edition creates anywhere from 20 to 80% of their own local material and also adapts the material from our US edition for their market. They are required to show all material to us prior to going to press. The new local material has the look and feel of a Martha Stewart publication, but it also has the cultural nuances that speak to their local market. MSLO employee, Ruth Feldman, VP International Editorial Director, oversees every page of these international editions. In keeping with our very high standards, Ruth will often redesign or design layouts from scratch and edit copy if it’s in English. I'm delighted to be offering our informative and inspiring creative content to a new and growing audience of consumers who are passionate about cooking, entertaining, gardening, crafting, weddings, and more – all the subjects that we celebrate.
