Attending This Year's Friends Of Hudson River Park Gala
Last Thursday, October 3, the Friends of Hudson River Park hosted a gala at Hudson River Park’s Pier 57. The Hudson River Park is considered the largest open space project in Manhattan since Central Park. The Pier was transformed into a magical space, using props that would be found in the park. More than 900 guests were in attendance to celebrate the amazing growth and success of this extraordinary project. Hugh Jackman was the evening’s gracious host with notable speakers such as Denis Leary, Brook Shields, and Sarah Kay. Goldman Sachs and Michael E. Novogratz of Fortress Investment Group were honored for their commitment to Hudson River Park. As a witness to the tremendous transformation of this park, it’s comforting to know that this open space initiative has so many dedicated supporters.

17 The party decorators got adventurous and turned their attention to the ceiling – usually an unused space. Here, a riverside picnic was suspended upside down.
18 Catering was provided by Danny Meyer's Union Square Events. The salad course featured fresh watermelon radishes.
19 An auction paddle! Bidding on auction items after dinner brought in hundreds of thousands of much-needed dollars to support the park.
