The Vauxhall, New Jersey Home Depot is the largest Home Depot in the United States!
I was very excited to see what this huge super store looked like inside.
While I was touring the store, Special Projects Producer Judy Morris, prepped and styled the stage for the workshop, which was located in a huge tent in the parking lot. The tent was erected specifically for our holiday workshop event.
Kevin worked with Judy to ensure everything was in place and ready for our presentation.
Terri Jacobsen from The Home Depot, guided me through the store to the personnel training room, where I would meet and greet a nice group of sales associates. I marveled at just how enormous this store is!
When I arrived, the associates surprised me with my very own apron! Everyone at the Home Depot Super Store had a work apron with their name airbrushed across the top.
Hello Home Depot associates!
There was a nice group of about 40 associates in attendance.
We were mutually excited to see one another.
I spoke about the excellent quality of the Martha Stewart line of Christmas trees, ornaments and my other products available exclusively at The Home Depot.
They were quite attentive and had lots of excellent questions!
We concluded our meet and greet with a photo session. From left to right - Kathleen Morris, Patricia Jordan, Merphia Williams, Malika Webb, Cheryl Outler, Nephtaly Cornet, and Chinwe Nwankwo.
Vellissia Foushee, Michael Roggerman, Farrah Bazile, Christina Daves, Joyce Henderson, Janis Tyndall, and Catherine Beavers.
Nora Brown, Pamela Carrington, Mark Hicks, Alina Ruiz, and Jenny Nirmala
Aziza Burrows, Jasmine PierrePaul, Catherine Beavers, Farrah Bazile, Judith Eddens, Eglitha Exil, Clyde Sinclair, Andy Xavier, Yelitza Jusino, Tolu Omisore, and Stanley Darden
Kami Grand, Vinnie Merlo, Terri Jacobsen, Bill Balrymple, and Joe Crowley
It was time for our workshop presentation, but I couldn't resist checking out the excellent garden center.
Here I am with Farrah Bazile, Kami Grand - the regional store manager, and Bill Dalrymple - the store manager of the Vauxhall store.
The Martha Stewart Living holiday display was simply fabulous! The four shatterproof ornament collections are beautiful and unique.
Kevin Sharkey was thrilled with his apron that the associates had made for him.
Kevin and I thought the garden center at The Home Depot Vauxhall had great potted evergreens. We were quite impressed!
I wound up buying 3 of the variegated holly topiaries.
Time for the workshop! My dogs accompanied me as I entered the tent and we all got a nice welcome from the 500+ in attendance!
Store manager, Bill Dalrymple welcomed and introduced us.
Kevin and I started the demonstration with a slideshow of inspirational holiday shots from past holiday Martha Stewart Living issues and the current December issue of Martha Stewart Living.
The audience was attentive and we could tell they were quite inspired!
After the slideshow presentation, Kevin and I were ready to start our holiday craft workshop!
Our first how-to was making an ornament garland with my Jingle Bright ornaments. This is a fun and easy project and is a great décor piece for the holiday season.
My Jingle Bright ornaments are shatter-proof and are only available at The Home Depot.
For the second demonstration, we showed how to make an Illuminated star using wooden dowels and our Martha Stewart Living LED lights.
First, we arranged the dowels to form the star and then fastened it together using zip ties, which we found at The Home Depot.
Using the same zip ties, we affixed a line of Martha Stewart LED string lights.
My LED string lights use a fraction of the energy that traditional string lights require, so they're eco-friendly. There are 23 styles of string lights available at The Home Depot in a broad range of shapes, sizes, and colors.
When we were done, we tested it out. Perfect!
Next, we demonstrated non-traditional ways to decorate your table with a wreath and glass hurricanes.
Martha Stewart Living Sparkling Pine Wreaths are pre-lit and can be used both indoors and out.
I really love the idea of using wreaths as table decorations and will be doing the same in my home.
Some wondered how we got the ball ornaments into the Martha Stewart cake stands. Easy! Just hold the glass top upside-down and fill it with ornaments.
While it's still upside-down, place the cake stand base against the glass top.
Then, turn it right-side up and place it on the table!
This project is effortless and simply stunning!
Martha Stewart shatter-proof ornaments can be used to decorate in many ways. They look great perched atop Martha Stewart mercury glass candle holders on the fireplace mantle as well as on the table.
I adds a beautiful and unique touch to your holiday decor.
There were lots of great questions from the very enthusiastic audience.
And I was equally enthusiastic to answer. I was so pleased to help kick-off the holiday season at The Home Depot!
Before lunch, I stopped in Home Decorators Collection, a division of The Home Depot, located right next door! Here I am with the very friendly and helpful staff - Mark Hicks, Pamela Carrington, Melissa Solamone, Alina Ruiz, Erick Graves, Jaleesa McEachin, Nora Brown and Jenny Nirmala http://www.homedecorators.com/Shop_By_Style/Martha_Stewart_Living/
Associate, Jenny Nirmala, helped me find these Martha Stewart Living Woven Baskets, which I purchased. Associate, Erick Graves rang me up and I was off to lunch!
