This was the grand stairway leading to the fashion show for the Hermes 2014 autumn collection. It took place in the former J.P. Morgan headquarters.
Jean-Claude Ellena, the perfumer for Hermès, and his apprentice/succesor, Christine Nagel. Hermès makes extraordinary fragrances for women and men. My favorite? Jour d'Hermès.
Jean-Claude Ellena was thrilled to be in new york, enjoying the fashion and the party.
The seating was newly constructed in this gutted space, as were the floors, and even the stairway!
The walkway for the models was a large, wide square.
Jean-Claude Ellena and Christine Nagel were joined by two other Hermès colleagues.
I love the clothes of Hermès. This coat is a must-have, but I think almost everything in the collection is superb.
A belted wool dress, ankle sandals with ankle socks, and a Hermès belt
Understated elegance
A toggled jacket and full skirt in winter white wool and ankle straps
The back
A belted fur sleeveless vest, leather skirt, long sweater, and ankle socks!
I loved this butter-scotchy cashmere jacket, flared skirt, and bit of leg. All the models had smooth shoulder length hair.
A great jacket, full skirt, and belt - simplicity!
The vests were superb.
A really great heavy ribbed sweater coat - notice the alligator navy clutch? Pure Hermès
A leather wrap dress - so simple and so wearable - She was the only model without straight hair.
Hermès is known for its printed silk scarves. This top is exquisite. The skirt? Supple crocodile
Another great overcoat, velvet trousers, and silk blouse - so wearable
A broad-tail lamb dress
A very beautiful fur jacket, cashmere slacks. and silk blouse
More unbelievably comfortable layers
A silk and wool dress and jacket
I need this dress - I could wear it every day!
I would also like this leather top, but it is very, very expensive.
An amazing party dress
The slouchy pants suit
The modified Cossack hat worn with a slouchy white wool coat
The elegant crowd

The review
I chose at least ten outfits that night! A girl can dream. N'est-ce pas?
Jodi foster was in the audience.
Jodie and I posed for photographers.
Here I am with Glenda Bailey, the editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar.
Our friends from Equestrian Quarterly were there - Stephanie B. Peters and Wynn Medinger.
One of the Hermès executives told us all about the 300 stores worldwide and the success of the various products.
Going to the after show party
Everyone was very elated and thrilled with the collection. Deborah Needleman, the editor in chief of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, is descending the stairs wearing black.
At The Bangle Bar, champagne was served through a narrow opening by beautiful hands emblazoned with Hermès enamel bracelets.
More bracelets
And more
And more
And more
One room was upholstered entirely in Hermès silk scarf squares.
Hallways led to other tableaux vivant, or living pictures.
There was an oyster bar.
They were serving three different types of oysters.
There were shelves of glasses for champagne and fine white wine.
Bathing suits were modeled in a swimming pool room. Models changed suits every 8 minutes.
Chain Reaction was a jewelry exhibit.
The jewelry was displayed under water.
A great necklace
In another room, artists sketched models donning Hermès scarves.
Such vivid colors
Glenda Bailey was admiring this gentleman's sketch.
I admired this woman's sketch and she gave it to me!
The model
So Little Time was the name of a display of very small watches.
Hermès is, indeed, making very small watches.
The ship in the bottle was the smallest one I have ever seen.
Another display was retro Bakelite radios.
Of course, Hermès bags were on display.
Kevin's new obsession - an orange striped canvas tote alongside a leather Kelly
These elegant silk topped boots caught my eye.
A very fine saddle with straps and bridles.
This dancing model was trying on boots.
Shoes and more shoes!
These dancers were showing off bags to hip hop music.
This fellow had a new take on Rasta dreadlocks - really different!
I told him I loved his hat!
There was a carousel horse for guests to sit on wrapped in silk scarves. I really wanted this blue and white one, but it was just for show!
Kevin made friends with this young man who toted a giant alligator Birkin bag.
This was the first model in the show, who wore the gray coat, with her boy friend. They came up to say hello.
I was wearing a new Hermès blue blouse and my friend was wearing a Hermès trench coat.
We were all given long scarves as parting gifts - so beautiful!!!
