A Book Signing for "Appetizers" at the Fairfield University Bookstore
Today is "Cyber Monday" - one of the biggest online shopping days of the year. And, if you're looking for a great gift, order my “Appetizers” book. It’s full of recipes and ideas for anyone who is thinking of hosting a party this holiday. You can order a copy right here on Amazon.com.
Earlier last week, I conducted a two-hour book signing for "Appetizers" at the Fairfield University Bookstore in Fairfield, Connecticut. The event was very successful. We sold hundreds of books to visitors looking for party ideas, hosting tips and holiday gifts. I also enjoyed meeting the large crowd that attended - it was nice to see everyone so enthusiastic about this book, which continues to be a number-one best seller for appetizer cooking on Amazon.com. I encourage you to buy a copy of “Appetizers” - for yourself, or as a present. I know you’ll love every recipe.
Enjoy these photos… tomorrow, I'll share some of our Thanksgiving Day photographs.
The bookstore is located in the town of Fairfield along the coast of Connecticut - just a little more than an hour from our New York City offices. http://www.fairfieldbookstore.com
Because the store is also in the center of town, it was easy for visitors to stop in on their way home.
And, what an enthusiastic crowd! Hundreds of people were already lined up by the time I arrived.
The line extended down the stairs and to the door.
I did one book, after another, after another.
Whenever I do book signings, I always try to stop for a few photos. It's important to keep the line moving, but also to take time to talk with the customers.
And each book was personalized - another detail that is very important to me.
Guests were instructed to purchase their books before getting in line - many bought multiple books to give as gifts for the holidays.
Each person handed me their books along with a list of names, so I could spell every name quickly and correctly.
I was so excited to see such a wonderful turnout.
These three young men got books for their moms.
Here I was with another happy guest. My book also includes my 10 "Golden Rules for Hosting a Party". If you're hosting any gatherings this holiday, you'll definitely want to know them all.
I was glad to see so many happy guests standing in line with their new books.
These students were eager to try the recipes over their holiday break.
Caroline Brown, a member of my PR team from the Susan Magrino Agency, came by with her son, Wyatt.
I was thrilled that we could compile so many delicious and well-loved appetizer and snack recipes into one book. It continues to be a top seller in Amazon.com's appetizers, side dishes and spirits categories.
The long lines continued until the end of the book signing.
This visitor had already marked all the recipes she was interested in making.
This gentleman bought two copies on his way home from a busy day at work.
These guests had also purchased books as gifts for friends and family - it was a bit of a wait, but they were still so happy to meet me.
Another customer with multiple books. In this book, I also share serving essentials, and helpful tips to ensure your gathering runs smoothly.
I was very pleased to meet Jedd Villanueva - she's the mother of my blogger, Jocelyn Santos.
After I signed all the books for the guests that attended the event, I signed another stack of books.
I thought it was just one stack, but more kept appearing. My signing hand was getting a bit tired, but I had such a good time.
Here I was with the Fairfield University Bookstore team - thank you for an enjoyable and successful book signing.
