Getting Ready for the "Big Game" on Facebook
What are you doing this Super Bowl-50 weekend?
If you’re gathering with friends and family to watch the "Big Game", I hope you were able to catch yesterday’s LIVE Facebook chat. I made everyone's favorite Super Bowl dishes, such as chicken wings, nachos and a great football themed cheddar cheese ball.
My friend and distinguished chef, Bill Taibe, joined me. Bill is the owner of two wonderful restaurants in Westport, Connecticut - The Whelk, and Kawa Ni.
I hosted the chat right from our Martha Stewart Living Kitchen made exclusively at The Home Depot. I love our entire kitchen collection - it includes everything you need to create the perfect cooking space in your home.
If you missed my chat, you can still watch it on my Facebook page! Enjoy these photos, and the game!
1 Chef Bill Taibe and I shot this Facebook chat in the Martha Stewart Living "Turkey Hill Kitchen" at my New York City office. I just love the color combination of the cabinets with our Martha Stewart Living Corian counters. http://www.homedepot.com/c/SPC_BRD_MSL_Kitchen
2 We made three different kinds of wings - ginger-scallion wings, traditional Buffalo wings and these maple-dijon wings. All three of them are perfect for a Super Bowl party.
3 The kitchen was decorated with balloons in the colors of the two teams playing this year. On this side of the kitchen, blue, black and silver for the Carolina Panthers, and on the other side, orange and navy blue to represent the Denver Broncos.
4 Bill and I had a great time talking about football, and our plans for watching tomorrow's game. I will be in Palm Beach, while Bill watches Super Bowl in a town movie theatre he and 80-friends rented for the occasion.
5 Bill is a big Dallas Cowboys fan, and he suggested we go to Dallas for one of their games next season - that would be fun.
6 Here's Bill plating our maple-dijon wings. These are so easy to make - all you need are dijon mustard, maple syrup and chicken.
7 These wings look absolutely delicious. The maple-dijon wings recipe is from this month's issue of Living.
8 While we prepared the maple-dijon wings, senior food editor Greg Lofts, finished layering the nachos. This kitchen was built to accommodate all sorts of still shoots and broadcast programs. The high ceilings are filled with lots of lights, so everything looks its best on camera.
9 Director of content marketing, Marci Greenfield, reads all the comments that come through, the cities and countries of those watching, and all the questions that I answer LIVE during the show.
10 One of the fascinating elements of doing these Facebook chats is that every show can be shot LIVE using an iPhone!
11 Sam Schutz from our video team is shooting, while Tina Weber Carmelich holds the boom pole microphone that captures all the audio from above.
15 Bill shaped our cheese ball into a football, as I added small dollops of sour cream to our plate of nachos.
16 Bill worked very hard to make our cheese ball football.
17 Greg pulled up a photo on his phone, and helped Bill make the football as accurate as possible.
18 How is it coming, Bill? Do we have a football cheese ball yet?
19 Our Classic Cheddar Cheese Ball looks great. It is delicious served with crackers and melba toast - all your guests will love every mouthful.
20 Nachos should be served hot, and make sure every chip has something on it. I love a good plate of nachos.
21 These nachos are made with organic corn tortilla chips, refried beans, white cheddar and monterey jack cheeses, jalepeno peppers, cilantro, sour cream, tomatoes, olives, and guacamole. Doesn't it look delicious? If you missed any part of my Facebook chat, you can still watch it - https://www.facebook.com/marthastewart
