"The Kitchen" Celebrates 100-episodes
As a television show host, I know, first hand, how exciting it is to complete a milestone number of episodes.
Recently, my friend, Chef Geoffrey Zakarian, invited me to his New York City restaurant, The Lambs Club, to celebrate the 100th episode of his Food Network cooking-themed talk show, “The Kitchen”. It was a lovely event - more than 100-guests attended, and all the food was inspired by the show’s five hosts and its producers. Here are some photos, enjoy...
Plus, Geoffrey just announced - he's opening two new establishments at the Montage Beverly Hills - a restaurant named Georgie, and a bar called The Garden Bar. I can't wait to visit them.
The party was held at his midtown Manhattan restaurant, where Geoffrey shares his modern approach to American cuisine. http://www.thelambsclub.com
The 80-seat restaurant is located off the lobby of The Chatwal Hotel, and provides guests with a comfortable clubhouse environment to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
Here I am with Geoffrey and Food Network Magazine editor, Maile Carpenter.
This is Geoffrey with his executive chef at The Lambs Club, Arthur Barrette.
I'm joined by Geoffrey and his fellow judge on the cooking competition show, "Chopped", Marc Murphy.
These are the producers of "The Kitchen", Beth Burke and Blake Swerdloff, along with Geoffrey, and his "Kitchen" co-host, Katie Lee.
There were great bites at the party, courtesy of some of members of "The Kitchen" team. These are Crunch Deviled Eggs with Pork Chicharron and Crispy Shallot, thanks to "Kitchen" co-host, Sunny Anderson.
These are Lamb Kabobs with Tzatziki and Cucumber - also from Sunny.
Here are Margaret and Geoffrey Zakarian, joined by acclaimed chef, Wylie Dufresne, and Maile.
And, another fun snapshot of "The Kitchen" producers, Beth and Blake.
Cocktails were served with one large ice cube in each glass. This is Geoffrey's famous Gold Rush cocktail. It's prepared with bourbon, honey and lemon - so delicious.
The Gold Rush drink was a big hit - the bartenders couldn't make them fast enough.
Other cocktails for the evening included the classic Manhattan with bitters, sweet vermouth and bourbon, and the South Side with gin, lime and mint.
Guests also enjoyed Banh Mi Sandwiches, thanks to Sandwich King and "The Kitchen" co-host, Jeff Mauro.
Flourless Chocolate Tortes was part of the dessert selection.
There were also Mini Apple Galettes, provided by Katie Lee.
Here's Geoffrey and "The Kitchen" team ringing in the 100th episode with a red velvet cake made by Maile.
Each one gave a few last minute wishes before the candles were blown out.
Geoffrey with more "Chopped" friends - Marc, and Chef Amanda Freitag.
Good times were had by all!
Thanks to Beth, Blake and the BSTV team, everyone got a fun parting gift.
Here's Geoffrey making a toast on the set of "The Kitchen" - cheers to one-hundred more episodes!
