The Daffodil Border in Early Spring

Here in the New York City area, today is expected to be cold, but dry. The last few days have been rather dreary. In fact, we just had two days of snow, temporarily covering the farm's early spring flowers, including the brightly colored daffodils.

I started developing my long daffodil border more than a decade ago, during the first years of my farm ownership. Since then, I’ve expanded the collection, and because daffodils multiply easily, more and more flowers emerge each year. Now, there are about 35 to 40 varieties planted in the daffodil border. Last week, before the storms, we took photos of some of the recent blooms. Enjoy.

And, join me today on Facebook at 1pm EDT. I will be LIVE sharing two recipes from my upcoming season of "Martha Bakes", which launches April 9th on PBS. I will also answer questions and offer my best baking tips - see you there!
