Halloween is just so much fun!
Spiderwebs were hung everywhere as were lanterns.
The plates are faux bois - can you believe they're plastic? Name cards were, of course, spider webs.
Guests were sent home with little coffins filled with chocolates.
Ghoulish decor was everywhere.
This is a real barn owl.
What an amazing face!
A long wall topped with orange pumpkins.
Chef Pierre preparing the choucroute garni - an Alsatian dish of sauerkraut cooked with potatoes, sausages, and other smoked meats.
Delicious straws of puff pastry were passed during cocktails.
Plates of roasted pumpkin seeds were placed on the tables.
My assistant, Liesl and one of my drivers, Carlos
My assistant, Eliad and his lovely new wife, Katie
Pierre made a delectable pumpkin soup.
Dessert was baked apples from my farm, filled with spiced raisins and nuts, and topped with meringue. They were served atop spiderweb creme anglaise.
I love the fluffy white owls.
Scary skull!
more table decorations
Super chilled wine.
The spectacular choucroute garni - long oval platters were placed on the tables so guests could help themselves. The bulbs of roasted garlic came from the garden.
These are the pumpkins that the soup was served in, all hollowed out before hand. The skewers help to keep the lids in place when being transported.
Here I am decorating the tables.
The center of where the tables met was decorated with this wonderful eerie tree branch.
