The first thing we did was to log onto marthastewart.com. There is always so much useful information on that Web site. We did a search for a heart template and found this one called 'heart felt scarf' and printed it out. It was the perfect size.
Upstairs in Martha's craft room, we found the necessary craft supplies. And guess what? - all from the Martha Stewart craft line, which can be found at Michael's Crafts and even at Walmart! We chose heavy craft paper, glitter glue, glitter, a heart punch, scissors, and a bone folding tool.
I just love crafting! Don't you Francesca?
The first thing to do was to cut out the template.
Wow! When it's cut out, it looks just like a dog bone!
Sharkey said something about this being a bone. I got fooled! It's a bone folding tool and it works really well.
Sharkey, this is all about Valentine's Day and I still love you.
You know, Francesca, I like the way these hearts are beginning to look.
When do we get to glitter?
Oh, first comes the glue. I guess we have to attach the hearts to the head band.
You know how much I like embellishment - I decided that my heart would have cut outs so I'm using the punch. Sharkey decided to keep her heart simple.
Watching glue dry is a little like ice fishing - nap time - maybe we can get something to drink!
Look how cute Martha's Valentine head band is becoming.
OK, now it's time to apply glue for the glitter.
It's important to give a good coating so that the glitter sticks on really well.
Oh no! Is that Martha coming? We better hide this headband before she sees it. It's supposed to be a surprise.
Can you believe what a beautiful job they did?
