After visiting Haskell's Nursery, we stopped for a quick lunch at the well known eatery, Antonio's, which serves Portuguese fare. Lunch was very good. This is the sign outside the restaurant.
Posing with the owners Tony and Ida Martinho - seated, Jill, me, and Barbara
Here we are discussing the menu with Tony and our waitress Maria. Choosing just the right plates was important to all of us - we, of course, over ordered. Notice the big lobster above the table? I have the identical thing hanging in my hallway at Skylands!
I was asked by one of the diners to pose with the mistress of the Port of New Bedford Harbor - she is only one of four such female harbor masters in the United States.
This was the best thing we had - clams in garlic, lemon, and olive oil - so very, very good especially with the freshly baked Portuguese rolls.
A closeup of the delicious cherry stone clams
The second clam dish was also very good - tomatoes, garlic, onions, and peppers - but we liked the first better.
These are potatoes cooked in olive oil - crispy and very good.
And this is fresh, line-caught tuna grilled to perfection - really good.
Antonio's is a very welcoming restaurant where the wonderful food is what really matters
The two stealth vehicles parked in the cool shade waiting for us to finish lunch - I rode in my trusty Suburban with Rock as my driver and Jill used her Range Rover with her driver, Ray.
