It must be great fun and very rewarding to meet such eager young aspiring cooks!! The ones that watch you week after week and learn so much valuable information from your daily TV "classes."

Hi Martha, What a great blog about your book signing at Westchester Mall in White Plains, NY. You and your fans sure look like you were having a great time. Francesca and Sharkey must have really enjoyed accompanying Mama to this book signing and entertaining your fans. It's really great to see so many young people interested in learning to cook. How many books did you sign on that day? Sure wish I could have been there. Back in the early 80's, I flew into the White Plains airport on my way to visit a friend in Danbury, Conn. Thanks for sharing and bringing back good memories. Jan

It's been so long since I've been to a real mall, over there in civilization. How wonderful!

Hi Martha
I'm so excited about your book signing this Friday at Williams Sonoma in Philadelphia. I purchased 5 books which I'm giving for Christmas gifts. I can't wait to meet you. I hope you bring the girls, I would love to meet them.

I'm hoping "Santa" will bring me a copy of your newest book.
Wish I could have been there too.

good morning martha,
it would be great if you came to the greater Toronto area for book signing ... maybe the Cookbook Store in Toronto?
Would love to meet you ... gizella

Hi Martha,
That line looks like the early voting lines we've had down here in Florida. Are those real palm trees I see in the lobby?
Thanks for taking so many pictures of your fans and of course I always like to see Franny and Sharkey. If you ever need a 'babysitter', I'm available. They are so cute!
It certainly looks like you are enjoying yourself and it's a good thing your hand doesn't get tired since you have been signing a lot of books. I think this book is one of your greatest accomplishments. My gosh, it has everything you need to know about cooking and I think everyone should own a copy, or two in case the first one wears out. I love this book and I don’t say that about every cook book! Trish
P.S. I hope everyone will get out early to vote tomorrow!

Awwww, Martha! No love for your fans in Winnetka?? ;o) Too bad you missed the Evanston farmers market - you need an encore visit next year!
Seriously, thanks for visiting - The Book Stall is quite a nice place. I bought two copies of your book; one for my sweet but virtually non-cooking sister, and one for a dear friend who is also my lawyer, and is the male version of you. He is a wonderful and completely fearless cook, an avid gardener, and a fine teacher, as well - he taught me how to make jam (for which we went up to Wisconsin to pick the berries first. Very Martha-esque, no?). Talk about a full-service lawyer. Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that this wonderful book is appropriate for both the beginning cook and the expert. Well done!
Best wishes,
Peg W.

Martha...what a wonderful following you have...capturing generations of cooks!

It looks like a great time. I have your book and have been cooking along with it and your on air cooking lessons. It's a terrific book - I just wish you were doing some signings nearby. How about going to Toronto? I could drive there and back in a day.

Martha,
As I was looking at the line of people waiting to see you, I wondered if you have become accustomed to the number of fans. Are there still days from time to time when you are amazed by the quantity of people that adore you or has it become second nature? Just curious… I send you best wishes for continued success, you are an inspiration for excellence.

Martha,
This is the most amazing book! I bought it this past week and I am savoring it like a favored piece of dark chocolate! I know I will learn so much from this book and by reading and doing, I'll be the accomplished cook I've always wanted to be. Thank you so much for developing this book for all of us!!!!

I was in that line! It was such a pleasure to meet and chat with you and a totally unexpected treat when Carlos walked into W-S in front of me with none other than Francesca and Sharkey! It was such a well organized event as well, from the crowd control to the soup and cookies handed out to the patient fans. Thanks! P.S. Love the book

I was at Cosco and purchased the "Apple-rasberry
Slab Pie" My husband Loved it so much I actually had to try it myself ( I do not eat sweets) and it was so GOOOOD!! I had to steal little bites till it was all gone....

Martha, you are the sweetest!
I love how you got everyone's name for the pictures - what a special memory, especially for your young fans, to see themselves on your blog!
This book is so exciting. My husband, daughters and I are hoping to make it into Philly on Friday, I think the pets would like it here, hope they come along again!

...Martha, I assure you I'd've squealed with delight, just like Mary (of "Mary & Peter")! (Does this type of behavior make you feel good, or do you loathe it?!!...we fans just can't help ourselves sometimes...) I think I'd behave, though (I think...)
I also think it's wonderful to see the different family entities represented here! - father/daughter, husband/wife, child enthusiasts, etc. Even Francesca and Sharkey got to go along, and I'm sure they DID entertain everyone while they were waiting in line! They seem pretty gregarious and used to people.
If you had a book signing close to where I live, yeah, I'd stand in line so I could meet you. My birthday is a week before Christmas, and I've already hinted for your new book as a gift for one/the other/both.
Oh!...your second MSholiday issue goes on sale today on newstands! I have a coupon for each/both! I want those too!
(...I want I want I want...I can't help it!...I want this, I want that...all Martha-related, of course...)
=^..^=

Hi Martha,
I bought your book online from Amazon and tried
the chicken curry recipe tonight. The chicken
was so tender, and we enjoyed!
Thanks for the pictures of your booksigning.

Martha,
Thanks for sharing your ideas in your new cookbook! I love collecting ideas and inspiring those around me to tap into their creative sides. I wanted to tell you about my Scraptastic Giveaway! I got a bunch of designer fabric scraps and I'm collecting ideas for what to make. I'll collect ideas until midnight Nov. 14 and then I'll choose the best idea, make it and send it to the one who thought of it! That way we can all benefit from the fun ideas that are posted! Since I know you too are a collector of "Good Things" I thought you'd want to know!

I am home from work today because I am the secretary at a church that is open for voting. I am nervous and anxious but excited to see who will win. I am for Obama. I was also excited to get to watch your show. Thank you so much for having Rachel Maddow on. I have recently been watching her MSNBC show and find her to be intelligent, fun, and inspiring. We need more of that on TV. My son is the one who told me about her. It was and has been very enlightening. Rachel brings up issues and stories that I would have missed otherwise. Actually now I am paying more attention to what I hear and read about in news reporting.
Thank you for always inspiring us all to great things.

I enjoyed your pictures of the mall book signing party, I have a couple of your books that are signed by you, I treasure them and use them, I was wondering when you are coming to Utah for a book signing party: see you on TV, Have a Happy Hoilday.

Fun! Martha you should consider coming over to visit us in Palo Alto, CA. The Stanford Mall is beautiful. Thanks for bringing Rachel on the show today. She definitely is very smart. I've read about her in the alumni magazine and it's amazing how she can carry her own voice amidst all the noise. Anyways, here's a possible trip idea for you: come visit Palo Alto - do a book signing in WS at the Stanford Mall, take a tour of Stanford - we have the new Energy and Environment building and spend a few days up in Napa. It's cooler now, but a lot less crowds and there are some wonderful hotels up there

Hi Martha!
It was wonderful to meet you at the book signing in Winnetka. I am the one who brought you the dairy, egg and nut free cookies. I am passionate about food allergy awareness and would the opportunity to come onto your show to talk about it and make cookies! My allergen free cookbook will be out in the fall. You are an inspiration and I will continue to look for more great Martha books!

Hi Martha,
I would like to know how to get the recipe from the show today, Nov. 7th. I think it was made from squash and had scallops in it. One of the chefs made it on todays program but I wasn't able to watch all of it. I didn't get the name of the recipe. You use to have a calendar where the emailer could access that days recipes and retrieve them. I can't seem to get into anything for todays recipes.
Thanks
Dotty Cook

Hi Martha,
While I was getting my haircut, my 13 year old daughter, Christina Faiella, bought your book and stood on line for hours so that she could meet you and have you sign the book. She was so excited to meet you. She LOVES to cook. She has already used your recipes to make cookies and flan. I remeber her telling me that you asked her how old she was, if she liked to cook and if she would mind if you put her picture on your blog. We have checked the blog several times and have not seen the picture of you and Christina at book signing at William Sinoma at the Westchester Mall. If you still have the picture, could you post it? She would love it. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ines Faiella
