Book signing in Westbury, New York
Now that the Martha Stewart Encyclopedia of Crafts has been released, I'm busy once again attending book signings. The very first event was held last week at Michaels - The Arts and Crafts Store in Westbury, New York on Long Island. Even though it was raining hard, there was a very good turnout. Several people from my crafts team came to help, including Hannah Milman, who supervised crafting projects. It was a really fun afternoon.

What a wonderful turnout! I have heard so many of my blogging friends talking about waiting for the release day and it finally being here. I wish I only lived closer to NY so I could have attended your book signing! The book is lovely only to have it signed by you Martha would make it complete!
Have a wonderful week!

T.J. and I (and our friend Renee) had a blast at the signing. Everyone was so nice, and meeting Martha was amazing!
I can't wait for T.J. to enjoy crafts, so we can be creative together!

Of course everything was well stocked--they knew you were coming!!! Most stores don't have that many products-and what they do have it's not well stocked!!!

If there were a book signing in my area you can bet I'd be there! I've gotten to page through my copy of the new book a bit and have already found lots of things I would like to try. Looks like it's a hit, but I already knew it would be

I sure hope that Martha can come to Orange County, California for a book signing one day soon, especially one at a Michael's store with a crafts table set up. It seems like most of the book signings are on the east coast or in the midwest.

I just received your book and can't wait to go through it all!! Do you have a listing somewhere of your book signings? I would love to travel to one if close to my home in central Illinois. I've not bought your glitter but feel like it is going to be a purchase in the future! Everyone raves about it!! Thanks so much, Martha!!

What a nice group picture of the staff there at Michaels (those lucky folks!) Looks like yet another well-orchestrated event on everyone's part. It indeed was a feast for MY eyes, seeing all the shelves well-stocked, and neat and orderly! As many have commented over the blogs, their local Michaels' (including mine) MSCrafts aisle are usually a wreck, but that's due to the popularity of your products, I guess. Being the neatnik that I am, I want to soooo badly stand there and tidy-up everything, and, as my husband reminds me many times, "that's what they have employees for, Cindy." (I digress...)
I liked that other displays existed, especially some of your other recent books. It was nice that you'd sign those too (and having those on hand also created a win/win situation for you AND Michaels, revenue-wise!) [wink] I have to reiterate how beautiful you look, too, Martha, on the cover of the crafts book...just sooo beautiful!
I aspire to meet you some day!

Hi Martha,
I'm thinking of making a copy of these pictures you took of Michaels in Westbury and taking them over to our Michaels just to drop a BIG HINT! Either they are always out of stock or they just don't carry everything but your corner of our Michaels is not a real good thing. Maybe I should do the same with some Macy's pictures you put up!
It looks like you had a great turnout despite the rain so that is a good sign. I know I would go see you no matter what the weather was.
I'm patiently waiting for my copy of Encyclopedia of Crafts to arrive in the mail and I can't wait to get my hands on it! Trish

I could spend all day in a Michaels Store....so much good stuff to foster creativity for myself and my kiddos. Use a lot of great items from their store for my business, too!
Come on out to Phoenix, Martha.....I'd love to attend an event like that in my neck of the woods (don't worry...it hardly ever rains out here!)

Hi Martha, What a wonderful book signing you must have had last Friday at Michaels in Westbury. That looks like the most beautiful, well stocked Michaels store I have ever seen! I agree with Trish and others that our Michaels stores are not as nice as that one. I listened to "Ask Martha" today on sirius 112 and really enjoyed all of 'twitterers' who called in. You are getting more and more new people all of the time and that's a'good thing'. I tried to call in but the lines were all busy the whole hour. I wanted to let you know about my Sat. trip to Costco. I got your new Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Crafts book and went over to the meat department to get your delicious ham and that area was absolutely crowded. People were lined up to get a sample of your ham and there were only a few hams left and I luckily got one. I love shopping at Costco and especially love that many of your products are available there. Can't wait to see what you will have for us next! Thanks so much for all that you do for all of us. Jan

Please come to Boston for a book signing ----
We have Macys and Michaels at the Natick Mall --
so you could go to both and sign the cooking book and the crafts book and I could even think of a great place for you to sign the Baking Handbook and even one for the cleaning book!

Hello Martha,
Please excuse my english, I am writhing from Belgium. I live in a little town called Lier (Antwerp). I watch your program everyday, the only thing is that I watch the program's from 2007-2008. But when I want to be up to date I take my computer and travel in the world of Marthastewart.com. Here I can see a lot off interesting things and read your diary.
I'm a single mom with two addorable kids.
I have a passion for interior design, I painted and decorated my appartement all by my self (with a little help from my man). My first passion is singing, I sing in a jazz-band. All our songs are written by me and my man. We are a perfect match when we put are heads together for a new song. I hope one day we'll have a breakthru in our music. My second passion is photography and the third reading and also writhing (fiction - Fantasy stories)
Of coarse I love to cook, especialy for my two little muffin's. The Martha Stewart show is programmed in my digital tv, so I don't miss a thing.
Well that's all I wanted to say, I hope to hear from you soon. You are a beautiful woman and I love the way you talk in your show's. Alway's something new en inspiring.
Thank you Martha.

Hi martha!
I know I am late in responding but i just saw the pictures! I'm the girl who was absolute first on that day with the afro! The little baby in the stroller with the book is my daughter Kendall who watches your show with me every day (we DVRed it that day for the signing).
I was so nervous I would have told you that I love to craft and I was inspired by YOU in highschool. Thank you so much for signing my book. I hope to meet up with you again. Oh and I am following you on twitter. I'll say hi sometime!

Dear Martha,
I'm late to post my comment. I wanted to let you know my experience to Westburry liked. I was so happy and proud and bragging my visit to all my friends and families. It's a great honor to have met you and Hannah Milman in person. I went with my 4 year old daughter, Kelly who loves to draw and love doing arts and crafts. We both had a blast at the book signing. Kelly had a great time glittering eggs with Lauren P. and Kristen A. Thank you for signing my book.
My 11 year old son, James and I love watching your show since your show were broadcast in channel 2.
I happened to have a picture of you, Kelly and myself at the book signing. I have it posted on my wallboard next to my computer. (I'm so proud! - because meeting you is a dream come true!)
I visit Michael's all the time, and I have to come home with some of your products in every visit. I love all the MS punches specially, I used them all the time in my scrapbook projects. Thank you for making all this great products.
Just last week, my husband bought me 2 more of your books - "Cookies" and "The Martha Rules" to add to my Martha Stewart book Collection. I made the Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chocolate Charms for my kids and as gift to friends, they all love it! and can't wait for the next batch of give away cookies.
Looking forward to be in your show in the future. Can't wait for August for season 5. Horray!!!
