Photos from my book signing in Northridge, CA
Last Sunday a group of us flew out to Los Angeles, California. As you know from yesterday's posting, I made an appearance on The Tonight Show on Monday. Thank you so much for all of your comments about Jay Leno and me. He is so very funny. On Sunday afternoon, after landing, I went to a book signing for my new Encyclopedia of Crafts and the Cooking School book at a Borders in nearby Northridge. Once again, here are some photos taken of that event.

Hi Martha, good luck with all your book signings, it must be fun, but exhausting!

I love, love, love the orange shoes!

Hi Martha,
The orange shoes are great - I like the ones you wore to Miami also which I took a picture of. I always look at your shoes and envy that you can walk in them. I can't wear heels anymore.
I met Katie Goldberg and thought she was very nice and personable. She introduced herself and asked what our names were and talked to others in line also and then I think it was she who was on her cell phone a lot. There were more of your people there as well. We figured she was probably talking to you and deciding the best way for you to make your appearance. Everyone thought you would come down the escalator but you came in the front entrance right in front of us and departed the same way.
I'm glad it was a successful trip to Borders in California and it looks like your fans were having fun too. I have the craft book and love it! Trish

...Another successful book signing event!...how could it NOT be?!! Borders was well-prepared, having your best-sellers right by the entrance!
I've reiterated time and time again, Martha, how much we love you - young and old alike! I'm sure your heart is warmed to see young children excited to meet you, to tell you they watch you every day, or to give you a little gift, given from their heart...how endearing!
I found the book signing guidelines very informative - I've always wondered what the parameters might be for these events. I guess there'd be nothing in it for Borders if I would bring my own earlier publication for you to sign, would it?! Personalizing a book, too, would require more conversation, resulting in a slower-moving line. I would HAVE to have a photo taken with you, though - somehow...some way!! [giggle]
In closing, I DO love your orange shoes! Snazzy!

You always look smashing Martha! You really have a look that suits you. That's a compliment
Fun Leno show. Most people bring photos of babies. I love that you showed one of your compost pile. Bravo!
My brush with lightning: I was at a little farm on the cliffs in Santa Cruz, California, volunteering for The Homeless Garden Project. I was with another woman standing under what was the only tree in the field when the lighting struck down on the ground just in front of us. You know in cartoons when a character is electrified and you can see their skeleton? That's how we appeared to one another; totally electrified and aglow. I remember for a couple of days following the incident I felt so hyper and energized, as if I had been drinking espresso non-stop. Did yo experience anything like that?

Hi Martha, Your Northridge book signing sure did look like fun for everyone in attendance. Sure wish I could have been there; maybe some day....I can, dream can't I. How neat that the young girls were there and that they love your show as well as your books. Glad you had such a great weekend and Monday and Tuesday stops on the way home. I'm sure your animals were thrilled to see you when you returned. Your TV shows are getting better every day!!! Jan

You look so lovely as always. Your orange shoes is nice and different look.
Martha I am going to order your book from Martha Stewart crafts with some craft items. It will be a great honor to buy your book signed since I live in Kuwait not able to attend any of your book signing events. Is it possible?

I love the orange shoes! If I keep asking, PLEASE COME TO BOSTON FOR A BOOK SIGNING --- it
might work! I am sure that the signings are both really fun and really labor intensive! And I get that your schedule is very busy. Happy Spring!

A friend of mine who has been a long standing staple in Greenwich,CT since 1966 and owner of Purdy's Farm is a big fan of yours and is about to lose his farm forever. This farm stand and DELMO were a welcome addition to the area and are sorely missed. There are people trying to keep this a working farm and because of strong affiliation with Greenwich and your love of plants and farming I thought you should know about something going on right in your backyard so to speak that might interest you.

Hello, Ms. Stewart - we share a birthday. I am a fan. One of my favorite recipes is your Mom's Paska Bread for Easter. Keep up the good work. You have great ideas.
