Celebrity chefs and more at the 2009 James Beard Foundation Awards
I was looking through my photo files and realized that I never posted these pictures from the James Beard Foundation Awards, held on May 4th at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City. My Martha Stewart's Cooking School book was nominated in the General Cooking Book Awards category, but sadly, we did not win. The evening was great fun, just the same, and it was a star-studded event. Please enjoy these photos taken with my Canon G10.

Thank you for posting. I have always been curious about this award show...now I feel like I got to see it!
Also...LOVEd Chef Dominic Palazzolo on May 20th's show.
Thank you so much for having him as a guest. More of him please...he is so talented...

Hi Martha, Well, dang lady, even though you didn't win you sure looked great! I love your outfit, it was tres chic and looked very good on you. I enjoyed the photos and am proud, it seems that my adopted state of Mississippi was very well represented at the Beard Awards! What with Cat Cora, John T. Edge, John Currence of City Grocery and Martha Hall Foose, it was a "southern affair to remember", yes? Having lived in MS 30 years before crossing the state line to Alabama I can attest to the fact that food plays an important part in the culture. Of course, I guess it does everywhere, we all eat. But I learned how to cook in Mississippi and am slightly biased in regard to any good news re: MS Cooking awards, and such as that. Emeril did look handsome, he cleans up pretty good, doesn't he?

This looked like an absolute fabulous event, Martha, and I remain disappointed that your new book didn't win! It's as you said previously, though - you know in your heart that it's still a quality product, full of excellent content! That, it is!
You, my friend, looked absolutely b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!...the first photo, and you and Emeril together are my favorites. (Emeril's such an all-around good 'joe', and I reiterate again that your relationship is simply win/win.) You are looking GOOD these days, and I admire your personal commitment to living a wholesome life, in general.
I really enjoyed yesterday's (Wed, 5/20's) birthday show with one of your audience members as your 'sous chef'. The segment was endearing, especially since your helper had read 'Entertaining' at a very young age (and she adored you - I totally 'get' her mentality! [giggle] ) Sophie, too, was enjoyable, with her ever gracious and nurturing personality...again, you must be proud of her, Martha!
I know new shows are going to be running out here soon...I'm r-e-a-l-l-y going to miss you!

Ms. Martha,
My name is Carmen and I'm 53 yrs. old. I'm from Cebu City, Philippines and I watch your shows in lifestyle network every single day. Thank you verty much for your unending information on everything a person should know.
Once I saw on your show an Asian Japanese I think) lady chef who own(s) restaurant(s) in New York and she demonstrated "how to make tofu from scratch"...I wasn't able to follow the procedures. I've tried to search for it here in your website but I've no luck so far.
Please inform me where to go in your site to locate it. I'd love to be able to make our own tofu at home.
Thank you very much and more ower to you.

I love your programs, I wacht them in Mexico in Casaclubtv, however I am just about to quit watching this channel because of the commercials that they show there.
They advertise hot lines and they are very offensive because they are very graphic. I think this is very tacky and out of touch for a channel that is supposed to improve the quality of life. I hope you can do something about this.
