A visit to The Home Depot on the way to my house in East Hampton
Last Sunday, I wanted to check on things at my home in East Hampton, so I asked Carlos to drive me there. It was a leisurely ride and we made a few stops along the way. Driving past Valley Stream on Long Island, I noticed a sign for The Home Depot and had Carlos stop there. I love shopping at The Home Depot and I was especially happy to see that my new line of cleaning products was displayed prominently at the store's entrance. I am so proud of these fantastic natural home cleaning solutions developed with The Hain Celestial Group. The products are non-toxic and environmentally friendly, with no added fragrances or colors. Currently, there are ten different mixtures for laundry, kitchen, bath, and general cleaning and everyone I've talked to who has used this line, loves it!
2 Look, Sharkey and Franny! It's my brand new line of MARTHA STEWART CLEAN and it's located right inside the entrance to The Home Depot! How exciting!
6 The girls and I were recognized very quickly by the sales associates, all of whom wanted to be photographed with us. Look at me with my relaxed weekend workout wear!
8 The Frenchies were very happy to ride through the enormous Home Depot in a shopping cart. I bought some new hoses for the greenhouse and these really great round flat pans for geese feed.
10 This shopper is a friend of Kelli Turner - CFO of my company. She was shopping for a science project for her son.

Good morning Martha, good luck with your new line of cleaning products, wish you another great success. You look fabulous in your workout wear, I can feel the cold from your side. Sharkey and Franny look soooo cute love your Frenchies.

Rowaida Flayhan

I am sure you made the sales associates' day. I would be quite excited too, to be in Home Depot and bumping into Martha Stewart!
Martha I love your TV show and lately you have been more quick witted on your show. I laugh with you and your funny little comments that make you more endearing to me and I am sure also with your other fans/admirers. You are fun, besides being beautiful and intelligent. Bless you.

Martha
I can't wait to show my husband your pictures on this blog. I LOVE the socks with the crocs. My husband looks at me like I'm crazy when I leave the house with my baggy sweats, socks and my crocs. That is my most comfy outfit. I tell him I've very secure and I don't care what people think.
Ha! Now I can show him it's fashionable - even Martha Stewart is wearing it. Hell, maybe I started a new look
Can't wait to see your new products and I'm really excited about the PetSmart line. When will we see your products there?

It is good to know that the products can be located at Home Depot. I want to use them in my campaign headquarters. The clogs look perfect for shopping on the clean cement floors of HD. Good support for any lifting and standing. Francesca, Sharkey, Carlos and the sales associates made this a fun outing for us too! Good luck with the cleaning products! GO Green! We can do our part.

I say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." You were dressed appropriately for week end shopping at Home Depot! Truth be told, you probably would not have been noticed except for F. and S. Without them, you fit right in with the crowd!!
Can't wait to try the products!

Martha, next time stop at the Home Depot in Jericho, right off the LIE and maybe we will run into one another! I am certainly going to try your cleaning products. I wish I could shop with my dog, but I don't think they would appreciate a yellow lab!

Been using the new Martha Stewart Clean Products for few months now and love them but the Fabric Softener needs to be reformulated! It's TOO THICK and WILL NOT dilute in my washing machines fabric softener dispenser! I have new Whirlpool Duet H.E. Front Loader and after each laundry load, fabric sofenter is all clumped up still in the dispenser. All other products work great!

Hello Martha, you were so lucky to be able to bring F & S into Home Depot. The Home Depot in my area does not allow animals in the store so I have to leave my doggie in the car.

Hi Martha,
I can only attest to the Laundry Detergent which I really like and will be using regularly. The fact that it and the rest of the products are fragrance-free is a big deal around my household. I have a sister with breathing problems and allergies and so far, no complaints. I'll be going over to Home Depot today and hope to find your display right inside our entrance too! I can't wait to try the general cleaning product, and the one for the bath, and the kitchen....I'll let you know what I think as I use them. I am so glad they are easily available and I don't have to order them! Trish

Great that you are doing something new with Home Depot. SILVER TSUNAMI will come to all of us if we are fortunate to live long. Thank you once again for work you are doing at Martha Stewart Center for Ageing. Just a continuation of many of us learning that we are all different and that we are all alike, too.
I, for one, am glad to be alive at this time where value is now seen in those who are at retirement age. So keep on showing us what is new. (but I still find little joy in cleaning)

martha, wasn't sure where to post this, i live north of buffalo, ny. in olcott beach on lake ontario, we had a light dusting of snow last night, so i got out my leaf blower and used it on blowing the snow off my vintage truck, all my out door stuff, i made pathways to my garden, and the nice thing is you can blow the snow where ever you want it to go, up against trees, fences, and all my out buildings....try it ,it's a good thing.

I am very fussy about how well they work so I will give it a try. Do you use them in your home?

Hi Martha,
Just finished watching today's uplifting show on ageing and just have to thank you for making my day because of it.
I commend you for dedicating this hour to such an important topic as ageing and approaching and living it as well as possibly permitted.
I just had a birthday on the 3rd, and had plenty of folks jokingly remind me that I'm getting closer to Medicare. The whole idea has been a little discouraging the last couple of birthdays since the consensus seems to give me the impression that some of the "younger" folks want to group me into being "old," which I keep reminding them that I am not!!
Watching todays program and the wonderful guests and audience members left me feeling like thirty-something. They were wonderful
I so wish we could all live in an area where geriatric and elder care programs and centers were avilable to bring a more graceful and higher quality approach to planning for the future of our ageing seasons.
Your center is a blessing for all those who can be a participant to longer and better well-being because of the high quality of professionals to whom they have access. More towns and cities across our nation should make this quality of service more readily available to everyone who not only need their ageing medical needs met, but also their emotional and utmost encouragements to the process of their approaching ages.
Your program today is an inspiration to a subject that needs attention and has been neglected far too long.
GOOD LUCK with your new product line, but I'm sure you won't need it....anything Martha Stewart is an attention-getter and holder. I can't wait to try the "Clean" line !
Thank you Martha for all of your continuing contributions for better living in this world of ours.
Have a great day!
From Baby Boomer Becky

Dear Martha Stewart and/or Associates:
How are you? Thank you for our new business relationship, I look forward to selling your products and seeing the reactions to our clients as the shop our stores specifically for your merchandise. We already have one of your displays "front & center" at the entrance into our store.
This leads me to why I'm writing you and/or your staff today. It may or may not be possible, but you know what they say, "it doesn't hurt to ask". So here it goes; is it at all possible you could visit our store sometime in the near future? We're located in Marysville, Ohio just north of Columbus. We would love to have you visit even if it were only for a couple hours.
As you could only imagine, your presence would drive sales through the roof, your products specifically!!
I don't mean to be so forward in my request, but to be quite honest, I'm at home right now with a burning 5mm kidney stone (under medication) with surgery scheduled for Thursday and no one from my store has any idea I'm writing you today.
My name is Ron Fullenlove and I've been with The Home Depot 11 years, ever since my retirement from the U.S. Air Force after 20 honorable years there. Your name throughout both my careers has always been one of respect and admiration.
So with that said, it would be an honor to have you visit OUR Marysville, Ohio store at your earliest convenience.
Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely,
Ron Fullenlove

Hi Martha, I'm Andrea from El Salvador and I always read your blog and visit your website, sorry for my english. All your crafts are amazing. I really like that you can visit this country and maybe put a store here. I make handmade cards but noboby sells your punches here. If you have an Idea just let me know. I really want to work with you or for you I know is crazy but is like my dream.
take care,

I only KNOW that you caused some excitement with your impromptu visit, Martha - I'm sure you took many employees by surprise. Gee whiz -- you're 'regular', just like the rest of us - casual weekend-wear and all... [giggle]
.
This new line of products is going to be exciting, not only due to the 'green-ness' of it, but - well, very simply, it's 'yours'! If it has your endorsement behind it, then we should all expect nothing but the best performance. We'll want a lot of bang for our buck, AND we'll want to do our tasks ONE TIME, to get things clean.
.
This was a fun little trip...thanks for taking me along. It surely bro't a smile to my face!
.
=^..^=
.
p.s.> Yesterday's cat show was wonderful (being the cat-lover/whisperer that I am). My beautiful calico Mandy was in a nearby bedroom laying at the foot of the bed, and the poor little thing got showered with kiss upon kiss during every station break yesterday...it was such a good (and informative!) show - I enjoyed it so!

Thanks Martha for puting these products where we can get them easily. We shop at Home Depot quite often too. Can't wait to get some of these products and try them. Thanks again.

I saw this line at my Home Depot a couple of weeks ago. Right by the entrance. My daughter and I stopped and looked it all over. She wants your homekeeping book and I intend to dig up a bookstore gift card I received recently and get it for her. I'm pretty sure she won't actually be doing any cleaning or organizing, however.
I'm one of those who is very interested by color and fragrance in a cleaning product. Perhaps someone will market little vials of scent and color to customize "green" cleaning products. I suppose the texture matters too. Highly viscous transparent gloop says "clean" to me.

You look tres chic for an outing to HD...except CROCS...really? LOVE all you do...THANK YOU for providing such a fantastic cleaning line!!

I've tried the Laundry, Dishwasher, Dish and Hand, Multi-Purpose,and Toilet cleaners/detergents. All are excellent, and the pricing is comparable to the major brands. Love, love the laundry detergent pump system, easy to use and no more waste! Thank you for these new items, as I've always had great experiences with any product I've purchased from you collections, from outdoor, kitchen and home. Looking forward to the PetSmart products for my dog Lakota. Thank you.

It looks for all the world like you were shopping in your *slippers*!! (When I got slippers with outdoors soles, my daughter warned me not to go shopping in them. . .but if MS does, well, maybe it's ok!)

Hi Martha, I'm so glad that your new 'Clean' products are now available at Home Depot and I will be out there in the next few days buying at least one of each type. This was a really cute blog! F&S obviously had a great time visiting Home Depot and it looks like you had fun, too! I love your outfit-it looked so relaxed and so did you! That's what I love about you, Martha-you are a really cool human being!! Your TV show today was really great! I love how you sat in with the audience and talked to some of them. Your medical center is the best that there is and so many in the audience are proof of that! Thanks for all you do. You help all of us in one way or another. Jan

This is too funny! My, my...how well behaved F & S are.
I also cannot wait to try these products. And I dearly hope people with pets really begin to understand that animals with their sensitive noses are vulnerable to all those toxic chemicals found in products that aren't green. Unfortunately, most of the products we grew up with are very unhealthy for animals and people. Thanks for being a proponent of clean and green, Martha.

Woo! I bet you don't go out in public in your crocs & socks again! I can't wait to go to the Manhattan Home Depot @ 59th- I hope they have the full range of the cleaning prods. there. I love the instructions you gave in the Homekeeping Handbook on 2 Tbsp. of Ivory in a spray-bottle filled with water. I use it all the time and sometimes alternate with Fabuloso b/c I like the smell!
Homekeeping Handbook is THE BEST! xoxo

Loved the pictures, especially since you look so very real. Just to let others know, I was chased out of a local Home Depot with my two girls (Papilion and little Pomeranian--combined weight 14 pounds.) They were quietly sitting on a pad in the basket and I was asked to take them out of the store. You're lucky they let you have yours with you. As for me, I now shop at Lowe's with the girls....

Martha you are SO FABULOUS. I love these little 'visits' that you share with us. I wonder if when you show up 'unannounced' at these places people get...well..starstruck? You were so sweet the time we chatted on the phone during your SIRIUS radio program.
Thank you for your very personal posts and this blog, its my favorite site to look at for inspiration, and as a horse lover and owner, anything EQUINE is always much appreciated.

They are an opportunity for our Associates to learn about new products. We have one coming up in the New York Metro Region. It is not open to the public. We will be featuring your new line of products and Urban Gardening Techniques.
On a personal note I have bought several products from my local Home Depot and I am trying them out so that I can give personal testimonials. I love the laundry products!
