Introducing our first app for the iPhone and iPod touch!
We at MSLO designed our Everyday Food magazine so that it could easily be carried with you to the market. Now, we have taken that feature to a whole new level with the introduction of “Martha’s Everyday Food™” App. This is our first-ever app, offering iPhone and iPod touch users access to thousands of delicious, easy-to-prepare recipes that can be shared, saved, and organized into mobile shopping lists. This new app, available for $0.99 on the App Store, makes meal planning and grocery shopping more fun and easier than ever! For those of you who purchase this terrific app, I would love to know what you think of it. I will put up the Baltimore blog that I promised tomorrow!

I might have to get an iPhone just for the app!

Just downloaded your app, and like it so far, very handy, easy recipes, having alot of fun exploring the app. Love your horses and dogs Martha

I already tweeted this to you but could you also make an Android app as well please? Android is the OS that runs Google's Nexus One, the Droid, several HTC phones to name a few.

Now I wish I had an iPhone!! What a great idea!

Hopefully it will tell you that Limburger cheese is an original belgian cheese and NOT a french one like you said in your show ........ !

Fantastic! I've been waiting for you to make an app for the iPhone!
Now - if you can get "Living" on the iPad, I'll be first to subscribe to that!
Posted by: Brian | February 17th, 2010 at 9:26 am
Please please please make if for Palm too. Plus Palm is running a contest right now and your app could win - I know you have a competitive spirit!
Posted by: Sarah | February 17th, 2010 at 9:46 am
Martha and team.....
I've been waiting for this. It was the first app I searched for a month ago, when I bought my first iphone.
It's great having all those recipes with you at the market.
Thanks!

That is a great idea. I often find myself dragging the laptop into the kitchen when I want to cook, but now I do not have to anymore. Sweet!

I will have it as soon as I upgrade to the new iPhone.

Lovely! And yes, a Droid app for us Apple-haters please!
Posted by: Kristen | February 17th, 2010 at 11:11 am
What about the Blackberry!!!!!
Posted by: Heather | February 17th, 2010 at 12:12 pm
Hi Martha, interesting idea. I love my BlackBerry so this obviously will not work for me but I am just curious how often folks will really use this while shopping. I spend some time pretty much every weekend (Saturday) to do my weekly meal/grocery planning (by the way my family love your croque monsieur recipe on Martha Stewart Living) to minimize going to the grocery stores (which I dreaded)and not buy things at an impulse. I love to hear how this new idea turns out and good luck!
Now, someone made a comment Martha Stewart (any) on Ipad. I am definitely will be interested on that. Take care. Hilda
Posted by: Hilda | February 17th, 2010 at 12:17 pm
Well that is good news, if I had an iPod. The way it happens now is I use grocery shopping as a brain exercise and memory challenge. Often it doesn't work but I keep at it.
I can just see a crowded store with everyone not looking up and crashing into each other. Maybe we could give it to the kids to occupy their excitment.

Thanks developing this wonderful recipe app. I've tried other recipe apps before, but I really love your Everyday Foods recipes so I know this will become a favorite app. I am going to make the Spinach-and-Mushroom Quesadillas tonight. Your handy shopping list feature is great for on-the-go moms. I know my kids will be happy I discovered this app too

Hi martha. . .I knew at some point you would be on the "band wagon" with an app for the iphone!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!
Now, I cant afford an iphone but if I did I would surely have everyday food as an app .. . .HOWEVER I am one of probably the few who actually ENJOY receiving my Everyday Food &, Living magazines and reading them from cover to cover over and over again.
I know the app will be a HUGE success!!
Regards,your friend Nina

oh this is a lovely new app. maybe the programmers could come up with one for us Droid users as well.
Posted by: staceys | February 17th, 2010 at 1:52 pm
Hello,
Please make this app available on the Motorola Droid as well so I may download this app on my new phone. Carrier is Verizon.
Thanks,
Tina

OMG Martha, I just tweeted about it (and retweeted it to pimp it!) I just adore this app, love the shopping list feature. AMAZING.
Not sure why there's so much negative commentary, there's been a plethora of times when I write my shopping list in my "notes" section of my iPhone and frankly this helps me skip that step. It's a remarkable feature that is "green" in some ways because I won't need countless scraps of paper to keep track of my grocery list. And @99¢ - seriously people what are you complaining about? Try it out before complaining.
I especially love the feature that allows me to edit my lists, check 'em off as I go along, etc. Because my iPhone goes with me EVERYwhere I think this is a leap beyond any other recipe apps I've tried thus far. As always Martha, you've outdone yourself. Kudos to your apps software development team.

This app is great, but I think video would be awesome on this iPhone app! Can't wait to see what u will do for the iPad!
Posted by: Joe | February 17th, 2010 at 3:53 pm
I saw the introduction of this nifty little tool on your show this morning, and I sure wished I had an iPhone! 99 cents, too! What an absolute bargain!
~
I've never really understood this mesmerization with one's 'cell phone' - you know, the continual walking around with it always flipped open, but with all the amenities these things now have, it's no wonder they've become the 'go-to' communication tool for everything!

I am going to say I'd like an iPhone too! I'd buy this app!
And saw on your Twitter about Neil Cavuto from Fox News, sorry to hear how they treated you.

Hi Martha, What a brilliant idea! Think of all the time and paper people will save when they go shopping and everything they need for a recipe will be right there on their iPhone! I don't have one, but this special app might make me save more to buy one sometime soon. Your TV show today was wonderful and so much fun to watch. I love the neat soap you and Gary made and the cool gardening ideas from Barbara. Our weather is still spring like and the ideas were very special. Stay warm. Love, Jan

You look stunning in burnt orange!

I purchased the app and like the concept. It's an app I will certainly use often, I'm sure.
However, rather than one recipe featured and then having to search for other recipes via keywords, I'd much rather have a list of monthly recipes from the magazine from which to choose. Perhaps a monthly archive somewhere that lists the monthly recipes as well would be handy.

I think your new app. is wonderful. Please, Please, Please, have one made for the Android platform. I really would love to have this app. I have been looking for a "grocery shopping" app for my Droid for months now. Thanks for considering it.

OMG I was wondering when you where going to get one!!!Oprah has her own called "Oprahisms"! They are cute motivational quotes. You should have one for crafts and other things not just meals.... I wish you all the luck in the world (even though you don't need it...your Martha Stewart!)

Dear Martha & tech team,
Thank you for the app. I use them on the spot in the market all the time. One note...I've been using the epi...app and I really find the home page helpful and inspiring. It divides healthy lunches, desserts, etc. It would be great to see such a useful home page feature on your app.

What a fantastic idea! I'm about to get an iPhone and I can assure you this is the first app on my list! I've been buying your food digests for years.
btw: I love all the segments you do with Etsy artists and am excited to see an entire DIY section on your website devoted to them. (I joined Etsy late last summer and I'm loving it!). I'm currently in Ireland for a while and am really missing my favourite show!!

That is really great, I really wish you would come out with an app for the Zune HD, that's what i have, how I would love that, instead I had to buy it on my teen daughters Ipod and she was not happy with me about making her have it on there and I really don't ever get a chance to use it,
very sad, well good luck, I love anything to do with Martha!!!

I am also a huge fan, magazines, books and daily TV show ! I try many, many of you recipes. I jusy bought a BEHOLD ll phone, which is an ANDROID phone. Please , please convert to this mode, not just an iPHONE. I would realy use this app. and I agree with the other reader who 'spoke' about how many scraps of paper we would save while shopping. I also decide on a recipe while floating down the aisle looking at what's on sale and this would make it great to compare price(I do have the bar cade scanner). Thanks for considering our opinions ! Good luck with your great app.and again ,'HI from a great fan' who wishes you nothing but luck on this ,one of your latest ventures' ! Debbie

I've used your App and it was helpful. Sometimes as a busy working mom, I need some help to create something different with things on hand. I can check you website and work, notate what items are missing and pick them up on the way home and make a nice meal for my family. Thank you.

You really should write an app for facebook, like farmville, only decorating you dream home along with furnishings. I think it would work well.

This is a wonderful app. I send recipes to my 3 grown daughters after I check out the recipe myself and we all have fun sharing how successful we were. We are all BIG fans.......thank you for sharing your gifts and thank you to a great staff!

I love this app! I downloaded it a couple of months ago, and have saved a number of the recipes. I use it at the grocery store frequently. Whenever I'm feeling like I'm in a rut and want to fix something new and wonderful, I just scroll through the saved recipes. It's great having the information at my fingertips so I can make sure to buy just what I need. Everything I've tried so far has been quick, easy and absolutely delicious!
