Behind-the-Scenes of my Grilling Special - Part Two
On yesterday’s blog, I told you about my brand new special called Grilling Secrets of the Master Chefs, which airs tonight, June 24th at 8 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel. I hope that you will tune in and see how to make delicious shellfish appetizers from chef Chris Schlesinger, juicy and flavorful beer-can chicken from chef Elizabeth Karmel, tender and meaty strip steaks from Emeril Lagasse, and so many other fabulous grilled foods from other all-star chefs. This show will certainly inspire you to fire up your grills. I am very pleased to present part two of behind-the-scenes of my grilling special.
1 Thank goodness, the weather cooperated for the afternoon of the grilling party. There was even a nice breeze blowing.
2 Games were set up for children and grown-ups alike. This old wooden badminton set is a real classic.
22 The tables had baskets of big, juicy cherries from C.J. Olson Cherries. http://www.cjolsoncherries.com/
24 For sitting on the ground, we used Martha Stewart Collection Bedding, Geo Stars Quilts available at Macy's.
34 This is Bill Taibe of Le Farm in Westport, CT, http://www.lefarmwestport.com/ who shared some of his techniques for grilling vegetables.
35 Elizabeth Karmel of Hill Country Barbecue and Hill Country Chicken http://www.hillcountryny.com/ served up her fantastic beer can chicken.
37 Brad Farmerie of Public and The Monday Room in NYC http://public-nyc.com/about-public/the-kitchen/ refilling his platter of grilled lobster and corn

Great pictures, great looking food, great weather, and happy looking people...what more could you ask for?

Dear Martha, It was a wonderful evening watching the grilling show. Just finished up setting up for a Hospice event in Bellingham, WA..."Mruphys Law" an Irish event tomorrow"... finally drinking a glass of wine and catching the grilling show. I just sent number 3 daughter off to her second year at WestPoint and called my husband in Alaska...Bristol Bay fishing for salmon. He was grilling off the back of his boat some fresh salmon. I had to smile as I was watching the amazing technques on your show.
My husband has a wild salmon business and I had always wanted him to call you direct. His sister lives in NY and they saw you with your dogs the day before Thanks Giving several year ago walking in Central Park. I of course said...did you say hello! Of course not. In anyevent I incourage you to check out the
Bristol Bay Salmon Fishery. Also checkout.. Ross Lake Resort as a treasured place on this earth. We have been going their for 18 years with our gourmet group...hiking, fishing and cooking incredible food. I have some great ideas for your show....Cheers to you. You are great and I amire all that you have done.you would love to talk call my office 360-733-4817.
Keep up the good work. Carolyn Gibbons.
PS I have an amazing rib recipe.... Would love to cook for you on the back terrace looking out at Bellingham Bay and the boats...Alaska Ferry. Come sometime for dinner.

I just love the beverage containers. So nice to be able to view the beautiful contents, with colors like the hibiscus tea, and lovely thin sliced floating lemons. I bought one (of yours) at Macys several years back and it is such a pretty vessel I keep it out even when not filled. Thanks to your photos today I am inclined to brew something up and take it to a picnic for all to enjoy - looking & drinking.

Great grilling special Martha! Loved watching it and seeing old favorite chefs like Chris Schlesinger and of course, Emeril.
I love your equipment barn!
Where can you purchase those beer can ceramic sitter stands for the chicken?
I was drooling just watching the show and writing down the recipes.
Love your beverage containers and Home Depot outdoor patio furniture. I have a friend who just built a new home and I suggested she get your wicker furniture for her front porch and she did! LOVE the quality of the pieces and the way they look!
Thanks again for always putting on a great grilling show and am looking forward to trying the "Beer Can Chicken" and "Grilled Lobster"!

Good Morning Martha,
Your outdoor grilling party looks so fantastic! The libations look so wonderful in the jelly jars! Such a nice touch.
I must say, I have been using the Beer Can Chicken method for years. It is hit every time! usually serve my chicken with homemade tortillas and mexican rice and beans. Which I prepare all on my Weber.
Thank you Martha for another look into your life. You are such an inspiration!!!
Paz y Amor,
Abraham

Martha, We thoroughly enjoyed your show and will soon try some of the show's recipes when we get our new Weber grill.
I love the photo of your beverage dispensers filled with refreshing drinks and especially the container shaped like a beehive! Is it possibly a Martha Stewart product currently available? As hot as it was the day of filming, you looked as fresh as a flower and as cool as a cucumber.

Darn, we missed your grilling special...will you be re-airing it ? If so, when ? Thank-you !!

This special was fantastic! The grounds looked amazing, the recipes looked mouth watering, the set-up of tables & BBQ’s could not be more perfect, the guest chefs were charming, the guests (especially the children) looked like they were having a wonderful time (even in the heat!) and you, Ms. Martha looked relaxed and like you were enjoying the day. Now we don’t know what really goes on behind the scenes. ( hair pulling moments?) but the show reflected all the hard work your staff planned. There are so many recipes I plan to make. The ingredients and directions seem so easy. Well, except the roasted pig… yet VERY interesting. Thank you for a great TV special. Hope to see more!

The chicken looked easy! Wondering what kind of canned beer that was with the pretty label!

Love the BBQ show Martha!!! I am a chef/caterer in Petaluma, CA and I watch your show everyday...You are amazing and when I growup,(I am 62yrs old), I want to be the next Martha Stewart. Well, maybe not in this lifetime! You are the ultimate Entrepeneur. Thank you for empowering me in my career and homelife.

Hi Martha,
Love the grilling show Emeril’s recipes always make me raise an eye brow. I found some great organic olive oils and vinegars that work well with chicken breast on the grill. Some fresh basil and chilies from the garden infused with this Hojiblanca-Intenso oil add some great life to an otherwise boring chicken breast. We marinate the skinless chicken for 2-3 hours in this robust oil and then just brush some balsamic vinegar over the breast for the last two turns on the grill…wonderful!!
Thanks for the great ideas!
Tom
