The ABC logo at 320 W. 66th Street
This long line is for The View. There were people already in line to see me at 4:30AM! They braved the strong winds off the Hudson River.
The current hosts of The View - Joy, Barbara, Whoopie, Elisabeth, and Sherri
#257 is a guest dressing room.
My name on the door
Before arriving at The View, I stopped at my good friend, Daniel Boulud's fabulous bakery, in Lincoln Center to pick up some treats.
His baked goods are simply delectable!
My hairstylist, Anthony Sorensen, did a great job, as usual, with my hair.
Thomas Joseph, chef on my TV show, dropped by to review the food demonstration with me. He also gave me some candied nuts he made for my plane ride to Australia later that day. Rebecca Casciano applied my makeup.
My makeup in my favorite natural shades
Of course, I offered Thomas a croissant before he left.
Guess who was in the dressing room down the hall from me?
On the way to the green room, I met Scott Tucker, an Executive Producer at ABC. He has every issue of Living going back to the very first one. Remember this cover? I had no hair or makeup stylists back then.
A view onto the set with audience members in preferred seating
The demonstration tables had serving pieces from my Macy's line, like these great pedestals, upon which Linzer cookies were displayed. They're made with hazelnut dough jam-filled, and dusted with confectioner's sugar.
Little ramekins, also from my Macy's line, were used to bake these adorable and delicious individual pear crumbles.
Reviewing my display table backstage before it was rolled out onto the set
These are the ingredients for tiramisu demonstration - Kahlua-flavored espresso, espresso and chocolate-flavored mascarpone, white mascarpone, lady fingers, and whipped cream.
The mini tiramisu is made with layers of espresso soaked lady fingers, espresso-flavored chocolate mascarpone, white mascarpone, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings.
These are little shortbread wafers topped with lemon curd and meringue caps, which get browned using a pastry blow torch.
My famous eggnog really packs a punch with bourbon, cognac, and rum!
Over its fourteen year run, The View has had ten co-hosts. Barbara Walters and Joy Behar are the only original ones still on the program.
The View with Merideth Viera, Joy Behar, Star Jones, Barbara Walters, and Lisa Ling
The other co-hosts throughout the years have been Rosie O'Donnell, Debbie Matenopoulos, Sherri Shepherd, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, and Whoopi Goldberg.
Here I am in the green room watching what came before my appearance.
Getting wired for sound
Some notable guests hang in the greenroom.
A reminder to keep voices down
Susan Magrino, my publicist, and I waiting patiently
During a commercial break, stagehands rushed to wheel out the demonstration tables.
Right before I went on, Whoopi signed my blue book.
Joy also signed my book.
Whoopi commented that her sparkly brown boots matched my sparkly brown leggings!
Waiting for my intro
It was great seeing these ladies again.
