Part one of a HOT trip to Mexico, an extraordinary hacienda
Well, I just got back from Mexico where we were shooting a television show for my new season. We traveled to the Yucatan and it was very hot and humid, as you can imagine Mexico might be in late summer, and we were all quite fatigued. However, we visited many interesting places, worked very hard, and I think the show will be wonderful. I’d like to share this photo gallery with you of an extraordinary hacienda where we were most fortunate to stay as guests.
Update: We are working on correcting the image problems that some of you are having. By Tuesday, you should have a better experience with the photo galleries.

BEAUTIFUL!! Love all of the photos!!

Very beautiful photos and yes, your make-up and outfit are very becoming! I like this Wordpress platform too. It's a good thing! I can't wait to see the TV show when this airs. Trish

Your hair and makeup look great. You are gorgeous! The hacienda was unbelievable. I loved the long tiled grill. Good Grief! I wish I had some money!

Like Trish, this segment WILL be interesting when it airs on your show this fall. We'll feel like we've already been there when we get to see it!
What a wealth of photographs! I see where this new blog venue affords more pictures! How did you hold up so well in the intense heat and humidity?!!...you DID look especially good in spite of it! I loved the hammock terrace, with the lanterns cornering the understory of the trees - it did look inviting and serene. Seeing how much Blackie was loved made me call out my own cats' names here at my business, saying "mommy loved them" (hoping they'd hear me across town at home. I know, I know...I can't help it - I LOVE my kittiecats! =^..^= ) It's interesting, too, to see the different ecosystems as you travel, referring to the different "flora and fauna" - those cycads were beautiful specimens!
As always, I've gotten a little long-winded...let me save some room for someone else...
(Hey, I can't "preview" and edit before I post this...what if it's too awfully corny, and I can't correct it?!!... Oh well, here goes...)
=^..^=

Hi Martha, I just spent a half hour perusing this new blog and wanted to let you know how fantastic it is before I spend quality time reading it all. You look absolutely relaxed and stunning in that outfit! All of the photos are fabulous! I love the schnauzers. I used to have one like Sweetie, but with floppy ears. The food looks delicious and now I'm hungry. Thanks so very much for sharing all that you do. I LOVE THIS BLOG! Jan

Are we going to see a plate of chiliquiles for breakfast? I'm sure there is a little homemade tequila there too.

Can we get the recipe for the pasta mold and the sauce? Will that be part of the show when it airs?

Hi Martha,
Your blog was worth the wait - I logged on at 8pm in London just to check it out. You look absolutely radiant in the brown outfit, and so happy.

I love the look of the new wordpress setup! Also, your pictures are wonderful. I was in mexico two summers ago in august, and I don't know how you functioned in that heat! I couldn't hack it!

Martha, the beautiful flame tree flowers look like our Royal Poinciana trees we have here in South Florida! The hacienda looks like a wonderful place to be. Thanks for the lovely photos.

Martha,
Everything looks fabulous. I love the tunic the hostess is wearing - perfect! A bit to warm for me at this time of year however...
Best,

Martha,
What a splendid place this is! I was most taken by the ornate glass awnings, which must be even more brilliant after a rainfall - all sparkling and dewy. The sisal garden was art in and of itself. I love how the plantings of the agave mirrored the geometric structures around them. It was all very sculptural and modern.
Paula and her crew did a wonderful job with this place. I can't wait to see it all on television!
I hope there will be more segments on the show of your travels.
Thank you for the preview!

Enjoy the trip to Mexico, brought back memories of Oaxacha and the native weaving and pottery. Thank you Martha A

Martha,
I am ecstatic to see that you featured a visit to Mexico on your blog and soon on your show. Mexico has so much to offer. I do hope that you will continue to showcase latin foods, customs, decor, traditions, etc. on your show.

Martha,
First, let me say that I love the new blog format for your photos. It certainly is easier and takes up less space on the page. I hope you're enjoying it, too.
Thanks for sharing photos from your trip! I love the papaya sculpture, the outdoor-roofless church, and those sweet Schnauzers. I looks like you were in an truly ideal place for your trip! I can't wait to see the show.

Martha...your makeup was beautiful and simply embellished your good looks! Loved all the photos.

Wonderful pictures but I'm sure everything was more breathtaking in person. Another note of information to the Kapok tree seed pods: it is also the inner substance to their footballs (or soccer balls) and our 18" Chicago style softball. As the ball is batted at repeatedly, it gets almost squishy so no need for big mitts!

What a great hostess Paula is.
The photos are awesome and your brown tunic and leggings are my kinda thing - definitely a summer staple.
Congratulations on taking your blog to the next level.

Guadalahara?? Beautiful photographs, and so many of them. Very interesting. Good to look at with a mango and strawberry Fruitista from Jack in the Box.
I prefer scrolling through a column of text with the photos integrated to clicking through. Also, I used to be able to enlarge the pictures and see more detail. I don't think I can do that anymore.
As figs are so hot right now, we've been trying them. Haven't found any yet good enough make us big fans. The ficus vine with fruit? Ours aren't of any use.

That's a beautiful place. Your hair fared much better than mine. Having curly hair meant that I hid it under a hat with a ponytail during my trip. Nothing else would tame it!

Martha
Mexico is beatiful. You are my role model, I turned 55 and thought my life was over and then I started watching your show. Your so alive and you laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, how wonderful to hear you laugh and you love your dogs as much as I love mine, thank you.

What such awesome photos. I enjoyed every minute of it.
This would be perfect compiled as a coffee table book. So much color and so full of life.
My favorite were the papaya sculpture, the massive grills at the arcade, the pool, the gardens are just so divine and the open air church.
What baffles me is the angel hair pasta dish with shrimp. Was the pasta packed in densely? Very interesting.

Martha Dear: Finally youve made it to Mexico. As you know Mexican Cuisine is one of the worlds finest. Right between France and Spain. We have such a grand variety of specialties because of the climate and location of each state. I am so proud of having you visited our country and showing a very small fraction of our grand culture and tradition. Please visit us again and be sure to visit the state of Oaxaca. Mole of all colors and textures are the specialty and dont leave without visiting Morelia, Michoacan. You will fall in love with the the gorgeous fruit in the market. Its like going to Tiffany and being able to buy all!! Saludos desde Monterrey, Mexico.

Dear Martha,
I loved your segment on your trip to the Yucatan. I agree with other viewers that (1) your outfits were fabulous; and (2) I wish you would do more travel segments. I would follow you around the world!
Where can I find out more about San Bernardo de Cussi? I especially loved the beautiful salmon-colored wall with what looked like a large scale white floral or native design in the hacienda and was so sad you did not have a picture of it on your blog.
Thanks Martha; you're the best!

I enjoyed watching your show re run of the Yucatan Mexico show. At the end, it showed all having dinner at Paula Crusi's Hacienda. I am interested in the pasta mold with shrimp recipe. Is it available?
