Martha, please give us about 60,000 more pictures of your cats New Year's party and especially of Mozart with that bowtie. Lol! I need the laughs while I get over this cold (thanks Mom!). Plus I'd love a better look at Mozart's baby blues. What a doll!

Oh my goodness. How cute Martha!!!! My Sylvia cat just loved looking at the pictures too. You've had your cats quite awhile because I remember my mom talking about your cats when they were on your show. Happy New Year Martha. Thanks for all the "good things".

You are so sweet! What a fabulous little party. Your cats are lovely. My wee kitty is not nearly as pretty but I'm sure that she would absolutely love to attend a party like that. Happy New Year!

What's next Martha a party for the three mini donkeys lol? But don't play pin the tail on the donkey at the party!
Cute photos of your cats.

Oh my goodness that is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Fabulous pictures!! Where do you fit all this in - its truly inspiring. I jokingly told my daughter that my New Years' resolution was to be more like Martha (she thought I was joking and laughed but I really wasnt! Well a girl can dream and become more organised anyway). Happy New Year to you, your family, staff and gorgeous animals!

This is a great laugh! The looks on the cats face made my night. I see the kitten is not there.

Cute pics Martha! Is it ok to give pets sparkling water? Are the bubbles ok for them to drink? I thought it might upset their stomachs or give them gas.
I can't believe you actually had time for a party for your cats.

Martha - only you would throw a party for your cats. AND why weren't the girls invited????

Hi, Martha,
What a festive New Years party your kitties have had in your servery! Thanks for giving us a glimpse into their fun. From their party hats and ties to the catnip, sparkling water, and even mice, they are all ready for their bash.

Martha...I love your cats! Haven't seen them in a while....thanks for the look at the party! What fun...they ARE adorable!

Cute idea! I laughed out loud at how "happy" Mozart looks in his party attire. Verdi has a great face with wonderful markings. Cats just never seem to appreciate a good party, do they! Happy New Year to you and all your critters!

I just don't get it. Why?
Posted by: Ken | December 31st, 2008 at 2:54 am
Cute pictures of the all the cats but I don't think Mozart is too thrilled with the proceedings! (maybe it was the bow tie)

Hi Martha,
I'd like to see what the table looked like after the party!! But maybe your cats aren't as rowdy as mine...
Happy New Year!

Martha,
You know as well as I do...having animals means always having a kiss lined up at midnight...even if we have to wake them up to do it! Ha!
Kiss, KISS!

Martha your terrific!! Only you would do something so adorable. I had two kitties of my own but they passed on. Your kitty cat party is adorable.

Hi Martha:
This party is definitely more elaborate than the birthday party you gave for Verdi and Vivaldi in August, 2007. So very cute but picture #2 makes me wonder what else was in that sparkling water! The three of them look fast asleep. Look at those baby blues on Bartok, and Verdi looks darling in his party hat! You have so much fun with your animals and I doubt anything you come up with surprises them anymore. They wear their little outfits and hats proudly! Trish
A safe and Happy New Year to all!
Posted by: Trish | December 31st, 2008 at 4:41 am
Oh how fun! It's always refreshing to see animals being treated properly unlike so many cruel people in this world. I just love the hats and tieras!
I hope that you, the kitties, and Frenchies all have a fantastic New Years Eve and an even better New Year!
Posted by: Kari | December 31st, 2008 at 5:00 am
I must admit all the cats do look like they are trying to get along. IF I threw a party for my cats all I would have is a literal cat fight.
I do think Trish is on to something with asking "what else was in that water.......?"
Happy New Year, All.

Okay, everyone...for all you regular Martha-readers, you only KNOW that I'm loving Martha's blog today! =^..^=
Yesterday, with all the adorable Chow photos, I remarked about them being furry little balls of badness, but I know ALL these kittycats fall into that category, too! I know, too, that Mozart WAS fussing with his bowtie - I KNOW it!...try to take it off of him, though...then he'll want it back! That's how cats are!
I find that, in having s-o-m-e experience in cat ownership, no two cats are alike...they're just like children, each having its own personality. Martha, how, pray tell, are you able to tell which cat is which?! Vivaldi, Bartok, and Verdi look the same! (well, I DO see one has white over his one eye...) ([AND] how do you know which one to yell at when they break something?!! [giggle]) They can be a handful and, at the same time, be very rewarding - again, just like children, I guess...
Well, we're at the eve of the start of another year. I wish for you (all) God's peace (that only He can give), prosperity, good health, true inner happiness, and manymany more 'good things' as we look to the future in 2009!

Your party looks to be quite a success! The decorations are adorable and I love the party hats.
I can get my kitties to wear bows around their necks, but I don't think they would stand still for hats.
Thanks for sharing. Lynn

I love that you had a party for your kitties.. I have l3 cats and whenever they have a birthday, it is catnip all around.. I just adopted two cats within the last 2 months.. didnt go out to do this, but Bella was a rescue and Princess was my first foster kitty, who I couldnt let go.. they are such a joy and on their birthdays I will give them a party too. I have a cat that will be twenty years old in a few months.I know the exact minute he was born as he was born into my hands all those years ago.. So I am so glad Martha you are a cat person as much as I am .. ( I also have 3 dogs too)

Hi Martha, What fantastic photos of your adorable kitty cats! I love the comments! Where are the other kitties, especially Electra? These guys look so calm. How did you ever get them to keep their little hats on while taking these photos?! I just love the fun of this blog and all of the others featuring your wonderful animals! I hope you and everyone around you, especially the animals, have a Happy New Year and the best year yet. Jan

I love the party you threw for your cats! How elaborate! I have a Himilayan / Ragdoll cat who is 9 months old. He was looking at the photos along with me, wishing he could attend the party too! You've inspired me to throw my cat a birthday party which is coming up in March! Perhaps he will toast with some sparkling water as well. Happy New Year to you and all the pets!!!! Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your life!

Hello Martha and all concerned with MSLO! And a very Happy New Year to you all.
I live in Sydney Australia and have ordered many of the Martha Stewart cooking books including the new Cooking School book as well as the Everyday Living cook book.
I was wondering if these books are or ever will be published in metric / centigrade (Britain and Australia) measurements? It would make it so much easier to use and enjoy.
Thank you so much for doing such great work and I really enjoy the Martha Stewart Show here in Australia on the How To Channel. As a visual merchandiser, I get so many ideas for beautiful displays, inspirations, ideas, etc for my window displays and retail merchandising.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing from you!
Regards

Happy New Year Martha!
Wow what a cool party. My Isabelle is not a social animal so I would not be able to have such fun with her but I am so glad that you shared your photos!
I want to know who's clothing you where. The tailored plain button down shirts are perfect on you and I would love to steal the look!
Please have a safe, healthy New Year and bless each day as it comes.

Loved the photo's of the puppies as well as the kitties. Have to say tho, Mozart was just too adorable in his bow tie. His expression was priceless as well.
Thanks for everything you share with us!

Dear Martha,
No matter how hard I try my kitty is hard to pose. How did you ever get your adorable kitty's to sit still long enough to pose. Loved the new years hat's what an idea! Next year perhaps I'll be able to get Jon Thomas (15 yrs old) to strike a pose like Mozart. Keep up your beautiful and creative work it brightens my day so very much.

Martha,
Did your kitties like the sparkling water? My cat is so skittish about noise, that I wonder if the sound of the bubbles would freak her out.
How long did they keep their hats on before they discovered the toy potential/
Thanks for a fun way to start the New Year!
Peace,
Pattie

My three cats have their own flap door entrance and their friends, Chuckie and Ed stop in on a regular basis to dine and hang out as was the case when the ball was dropping at Times Square. Prince is my 15 year old but as usual was the life of the party. He is a lamp shade on his head type party animal

Oh Martha. I love you, but if I put my cat in a tiny metallic top hat....well lets just say neither my cat or my family would think I was sane.
I do love the photos though....a cat nip buffet, an illuminated kitty bow-tie. What won't you think of next.
This was cute enough to review on my blog though!

Hello Martha, I am not a cat person either. Long ago, when I was a child holding my Mother's hand, as we walked into my Aunts home. My Mom was attacked by my Aunts cat. Or so it seemed that way when I was so little. The cat jumped onto my Mother and scratched down her leg. I was holding her hand as this happened. I remember my Mom screamed because the cat put a runner down her black nylons. Anyway that image haunted me for the rest of my life whenever I seen a cat. Therefor I would never own a cat but my husband does like cats. So who knows, I may give in one day and let him get a cat.
Although, I do like stories of animals and I loved your New Years Party for the Cats! It was a Grand Idea. Thanks for the Inspiration.

What a wonderful idea. Our fur-kids deserve as much of a celebration as the rest of us and the best part is there is no alcohol involved. Love to see/hear more about your cats.

What a fun idea, Martha! Happy New Year to you and all your critters.
I'm wondering, here we are at the New Year, and I'd like to know if you could create/post a new printable calendar for 2009 that fits in a cd jewel case. I loved last year's though I didn't put mine into a jewel case. I clipped mine to a mini clipboard, purchased at my local office supply store.
Thanks for reading my comment!

Dear Martha,
looking to your show on January 16.
I was fun watching you try and take
your new out of the carrier. I have
a trick. You take out the screws out
and lift the lid off.

Martha, I always enjoy your show when I run home at lunch to check on my number one pet, Indi (boxer). I had to comment on today's show wher you introduced us to your newest kitty, snowflake. He seemed so unhappy trying to get him out of the kennel. Please try a top load kennel for your cats in and out is so much easier. I am the Director of Product Development at Petmate and have been in this business for 22 years and counting. Topload is easy to get kitty out of and use for simple vet treatments without removing kitty. I prefer the front door for loading on most cats; place them rear-towards-the-door and touch their nose. They naturally back up and presto, they are in quickly.
If you would like to try a top load, please let me know I would be happy to send you one. I am proud to say my company, Petmate is the largest supplier of kennels in the U.S.!
