A wonderful party with our decorating partners
This past Wednesday evening, Robin Marino, our co-CEO at MSLO hosted a party at her very chic and comfortable pied-à-terre in New York City, where she stays during her very busy workweek. Her guests included our decorating partners, people who manufacture for our brand, such as our floor carpet tiles, our furniture, our rugs, and our framed photography. These people are all visiting New York City this week to attend meetings about these products. It was especially nice to have this opportunity to chat and mingle with them and talk about their respective businesses during these troubling times. My former chef, Pierre Schaedelin, who is now co-owner and executive chef at New York City’s Benoit restaurant catered the affair, which was, as usual, quite delicious.

Of all the gatherings you have shown on your blog, this is the one I would have most liked to attend. I am a Product Development Manager so I am sure the conversations would have been of great interest. You have chosen excellent partners for your merchandising endeavors.
Plus the food looks great!

Man, what we could do with a party right now. Latest casualty of the times is our beautiful regional newspaper. Tough and sad for all.
Enjoy your success and those of your partners.

Martha,
The photo of Eliad Laskin playing the piano would make a nice poster.
I enjoyed the photos of the food display...nicely done. I also like the photos of Robin's beautiful ceiling.

Bonjour. Diane's or Diana's quote about style is true. We need Martha & MSLO most when life is difficult. They bring beauty to our lives. Ciao!

I have a pied-Ã -terre in my imaginary world. I hope to have one in real life one day.

Anyone knows that any product that bears your name or endorsement, Martha, is of the utmost quality and style - how wonderful to have all these folks in the same room who are responsible for creating and maintaining your 'brand'! It's nice to be enlightened with these executives equally as much as your own staff at MSLO.
A goodgood Martha-blog/twitter buddy (she knows who she is [wink] ) had sent me a link to Business Week's recent interview with you, and I've got to tell you that I am just soooo excited for MSLO's future and your dreams and visions, and where you're going to take us! I plan on going along! Mmmhmm! Yes I do!...
While I'm here...hi, Eliad, you musical wonder, you! Who'd've thunk [giggle] you had musical talents?! And you play by ear! I did too, until I began to learn reading music and playing violin in elementary school. I then learned to play the piano/organ and actually play and read the proper notes (all self-taught). The Lord gives us certain gifts and talents (but we [I!] always want some of those that He gives others [giggle]. Uh, the Bible calls that 'coveting' I think [NO grin!]) It was cool to learn this about you!...
Martha, did you get to meet 'Pam in California' yesterday (Thurs, 2/26) during a show taping? (Wouldn't that be neat, everyone?!)
Enjoy St. Louis this weekend, and do share your photos when you get back!

Hi Martha,
What a great way to welcome your decorating partners while on their visit to New York. I really like the ceiling in Robin Marino’s pied-à -terre and I’m sure everything else is equally beautiful. Eliad looks right at home at the piano and as if he wasn’t talented enough, he plays the piano too! I’m thinking he might make a great musical guest on your show.
I think I will just eat bread over the weekend, hot and fresh from my favorite bakery. Pierre’s spread looked so delicious! But knowing my appetite, I better get some pâté, cheese and smoked salmon too! I would eat pretty boring if it wasn’t for the new ideas I get from you on a regular basis. I also want to try that Dutch Baby Pancake you made on the Today show and the recipe is available in Everyday Food magazine for March.
Thanks for sharing your party with us and I hope you sign lots of books today! Trish

Hi Martha, You, your friends, partners and colleagues etc. sure do have fun at a party. I love Robin's Town House and it looks like everyone at the party did, too. Chef Pierre's food looks scrumptious. Sure wish I could taste it all. Glad that things are holding up as well as can be expected and sure hope our economy improves real soon. We all have to keep a positive outlook. Have a great day in St. Louis, Martha. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Jan

Those cheese straws look as though they came straight out of the Martha Stewart Hors D'oeuvres Handbook. Yum!

Your recent blogs have certainly dwelt on different kinds of foods.
I think I will enjoy my mac and cheese tonite. Nothing like comfort food when it's cold outside!

I like those leaning tower vases. I have a cheese shaker to match that I believe I bought at Pic 'n' Save a great long time ago. Not very useful, but amusing.
Perhaps you are charmed by people with style, but it's those with catholic tastes who should be celebrated. They make it possible for the few to have nice things.

Martha,
You know, it never fails to amaze me, in good times and in bad, how you and your company always lives up to the image that is portrayed. The world would be much better off if ALL companies engaged themselves in that same manner. MSLO is the perfect roll model for 'how-to' conduct business (as well as throwing nice, productive and inexpensive parties!
) in America and abroad. Long Live the spatula makers!
Really though, Martha, these days it's such a guessing game...the economy, the weather, the planet, the outcome of it all. One thing I've learned from the B+S Challenge is 'Find time to relax'; so I am...taking a trip before garden chores set in. Not taking a lap top (my way of going green). Am taking the cooking school book, though. What a great job you, Sarah and others did on that book! So BYE! 'Til then.

Is it just me or does the kudu look really large in proportion to the room? I think I'd be a little initmidated with him looming over me all the time!
I was at a party in DC many years ago in a similar ornately detailed home and there was a mounted boar's head hanging over the mantle in the foyer. There was music and dancing going on up on the second floor and the vibrations caused the boar's head to fall off the wall and gore a woman who was innocently sipping a cocktail. Fortunately, she got away with just a scratch and I'm sure the story has been repeated many times.
Moral of the story - beware of antique taxidermy!

Got to see Martha and get my book signed in St. Louis - she is beautiful, poised and so kind - thank you so much for staying "in touch" with your grateful fans.

I'm always so interested and impressed with how simply elegant everything "martha" is portrayed; whether on the show, in magazines, etc. I myself am interested in starting up a small catering business (in a rural area no less) and am looking for tips, advice and even recipes. I love cooking and have decided to attempt making a living at doing so. Martha just makes me feel "at home"....I aspire to be like her; of course, on a much smaller scale!
