Visiting a Kitchen Make-over
Yesterday, I traveled to The Home Depot in Norwalk, Connecticut to film a television segment about my new line of kitchens debuting at The Home Depot later this fall. I was met there by Nicole Sutliff, one of my publicists at The Susan Magrino Agency, and her husband, Trey. Nicole and Trey worked with The Home Depot to install one of these new kitchens in their home and after visiting The Home Depot, my crew and I went there to see it.
I am so excited about these new kitchens, including fine cabinetry, countertops, and hardware. For design inspiration, I looked to the kitchens in my own homes, as well as those of my colleagues. The result is a mix of door and glass designs, color palettes, and practical features in a wide range of styles, so you can create a look that you love at a price you can afford.
1 Here I am entering The Home Depot with Francesca and Sharkey - two of my favorite shoppers.
2 Walking through the aisles, I was reminded that I needed a couple of things.
3 Such as five brooms and five dust pans.
4 Francesca and Sharkey didn't seem to mind sharing the cart with so many brooms.
5 Walking towards the kitchen department, I was greeted by Nicole and her husband, Trey.
6 The different style cabinets are displayed on this flip board.
7 These kitchens are so, so beautiful!
8 Here I am pointing out the names of the various kitchens, designed after the kitchens in my own homes, as well as those of my colleagues.
9 The drawers below display the Corian countertop selections and the hardware samples.

11 Behind the scenes
12 Curious shoppers
13 The Martha Stewart Living™ paint palette, available at The Home Depot, includes 280 beautiful colors in 4 interior and 2 exterior sheens.
14 Here I am with Home Depot employees Colleen, Christopher, Steve, and Denise.
15 I was asked to sign a couple of Home Depot aprons.
16 Here I am paying for my purchases. My friend, Susan Warburg, dropped by to see me.
17 I was happy to see that my Martha Stewart Clean products were displayed at the check out.
18 These environmentally safe products are really great and are becoming more and more popular.
19 Leaving The Home Depot to go and see Nicole and Trey's new kitchen. They don't live too far from this Home Depot.
20 For their home, Nicole and Trey chose the Turkey Hill collection. The cabinets are painted 'Fortune Cookie' and the countertops are 'Shoreline' by Corian.
21 For hardware, they selected 'Soft Iron' drawer pulls.
22 And 'Soft Iron' bowl knobs
23 This clever cabinet has a wipe-board for notes and a handy key holder.
24 The illuminated cabinets have glass-front doors.
25 The decorative shelf brackets are wonderful.
26 The utensil drawer is separated with wooden dividers.
27 Nicole loves this slide-out spice rack.
28 Handy shelving for cookbooks
29 They have a great selection!
30 A built-in GE Profile microwave
31 The cook range is also GE Profile.
32 As is the refrigerator
33 The light fixtures are Hampton Bay from the Home Depot.
34 I am sure that Trey and Nicole will be very happy with this kitchen for many years to come.

Martha, you have all the fun!!!!
I really like the kitchen at the bottom of the picture in picture of #7. It looks so old fashioned and up-to-date, all at the same time.
Thanks for the ideas
Gloria!!

I really love your new kitchen range. I am just about to have my kitchen remodelled here in London, England, and am sad that none of your products are on sale here (yet). I have a lot of stuff imported from around the world but even for me, a whole kitchen may be too much! Our version of Home Depot is crying out for a touch of famous glamour, there are very few endorsed products apart from those sold by famous designers. No-one is selling the whole lifestyle, which you do so brilliantly. Here's to your continued success and worldwide expansion!

Oh, my gosh! My mouth is watering over the kitchen featured in this article. White board, key storage, spice storage, divided silverware drawer, and the cabinets are so beautiful! Ah, if only . . .

Martha, I continue to be amazed at microwave installs. High over the shoulder height, low under counter like this one do not seem safe to me. Sure the 20 and 30 year olds are agile and strong, but as one ages it is different. So often microwaved items are hot and catch cooks unaware. It would seem a counter height would be best, but the stuck on the counter "look". Your thoughts on microwaves?

Martha I am so excited to see you bringing your kitchen designs to Home Depot! I plan to remodel my kitchen and love the idea of having a Martha inspired design right in my own home! Trey and Nicole did a nice job selecting the various components for their beautiful kitchen too.

Hi Martha,
Home Depot has been my home away from home for many years and now that your products are available there, I shop the store even more! I am so pleased with your cleaning line and paint that I won’t be buying any other brands. Your paint doesn’t smell, it dries fast and one coat is all that is needed even in a scuffed up closet where I did a lot of spackling. I love that paint!
~
I can’t wait to see your kitchen displays at our Home Depot. You have no idea how badly I want a new kitchen and like we’ve all heard before, be careful of what you wish for! Turkey Hill kitchen, Turkey Hill kitchen, Turkey Hill kitchen……chanting can’t hurt either. Trish

I saw the kitchen display at our local Home Depot this weekend. We are planning a kitchen re-do next year and there are several cabinets/countertops from your display that would be perfect, now all I have to do is decide which one! We also used "Sharkey Gray" paint on our recent bath reno and everyone comments on how perfect the color is with the tile. Thank you for providing affordable and quality items.

Awww! The look on Franny's face in photo #4 cracks me up! She's got the total puppy-dog look down!
My Ozzy is super jealous that they get to go shopping with you
Your new kitchen line looks fab! I can't wait to see it up close at Home Depot!

I dearly hope the cabinetry line will extend to Home Depot stores in Canada as our Summer cottage is due for a kitchen makeover and i would love to implement your cabinetry into our space. I also prefer microwaves be placed on a lower level...if one is short it doesn't work well to have them up high and the counter takes up too much space. The microwave in this feature is placed perfect for me! Here's hoping i will have a Martha kitchen in my Summer home!

The wonders never cease. I have to get to the Home Depot in Springfield PA. I talked with Kevin Sharkey on Friday during his appearance on Sirius(112). He recommended that I go to see the fabric covers that you have supplied to Home Depot. I reorganized my home office and need four covers for four milk cartons which I am using effectively as file drawers. I promised Kevin to check out your collection at Macy's too as that was his "subject" for that day. I will do so for upcoming gift purchases. As I said to Kevin, the pleasure of MSLO is matter in print, online, on TV, on facebook, on Twitter, or on Sirius radio, my time and my money are never wasted and always given back much VALUE. I have the Baking Handbook book and love love love it. I do have a book store gift card from a friend's birthday gift to me. Unless you recommend otherwise, I am planning to purchase your Cooking School book with it as my next purchase. I once borrowed from another friend your thin hard cover book on building vegetable gardens. I can not find it to purchase anywhere. Can you recommend how to access that book for purchase? I think the third and fourth and fifth book purchases will be that garden book if I find it, then your cleaning book, and then your cupcake book, and sixthly your Every day food books. Are your books available as an online version for a Kendall? I am considering an IPAD and/or a Kendall. It is time to donate my 300 plus print collection and go online except for my kitchen library books. Yes time to make that conversion with a few print exceptions.

This is a great selection , I recently checked out the display at our Central Islip Home Depot and we are very happy that you are using veined Corian in this collection. We love the cabinetry colors and cabinet options . It's very refreshing , yet simple concept and it will give customers great choice. Corian looks very marble like ,without all pitfalls of marle, but like all solid surface is more forgiving , flexible and easily renewable.
As a solid surface fabrication shop we are very happy that you going to use Corian .
Good Luck with this collection.

Hello Martha, are you going to have another kitchen makeover anytime soon? My sister is in need of one...I have always enjoyed learning from you, actually, watch your show at 3am when I am awake...textile major, UGA..BS 1985.

This kitchen is beautiful. But as a practical matter, they will really not like either the microwave nor spice rack down low. When their kids come along, the toddlers will play with both of them. As they age, they are not going to like having to bend over to use either one of them. The microwave is used constantly, and needs cleaned frequently. And finding little containers when you're upside down is not fun.

Nicole and Trey kitchen looks gorgious and I would love to have a kitchen like thiers when I purchase my first home. Are all these items in the photo Martha Stewart products?

five brooms and dust pans, hmm. I don't know if the little dogs are happy or not. My little guys are never sure if a broom whooshing around is a good thing. Think Fran also has that look in her eye.
Yes the kitchens are wonderful. It is a delight to have someone who understands a working system to be involved. Your kitchens are those functional systems. A space for cookbooks is important.

Hi Martha, Love how you have kitchens in your range now...just wish we in Australia could access your lines. How about coming to Australia? My dream kitchen is your studio kitchen on your Martha show. Sadly for some reason in Melbourne we don't get your daily show anymore...I'm so sad about this and wish it would return soon. I miss watching you and all your amazing guests. Have a lovely day!

Hello -- I'm not sure if Martha will ever read this but I have been feeling a bit 'blue' all summer, knowing that Martha will not be on NBC anymore, come Sept. I understand that it is better for Martha to be not so restricted, but those of us who live in small towns will be cut off from her shows. Hallmark doesn't have a channel in our town. I hope she will come back to us someday!

The next time I am at home depot I am going to ask them where are the martha stewart products.
Thank you for always putting up lots of pictures.
Hi to Francesca and Sharkey from Sir Salty and myself.

Great kitchen! Did one of the Home Depot kitchen designers design this kitchen for Nicole & Trey? If so I'd love to know his name and have him do mine too. I didn't see a credit to any designer in any of the photos or captions. Who is the designer of this fabulous kitchen?!

I love the look of this kitchen, especially the bookcase and the bracketed shelves. And the creamy yellow "Fortune Cookie" painted finish is not like anything I've seen, just beautiful! It looks like the island is a different finish. I wish I could see more of this kitchen. I'll definitely be going to Home Depot to see the display.

I still have Pale Naples Yellow, Touch of Green, Mineral Green ad Verbena. then from Sherwin Williams, Mourning Dove, to match my East Hampton stepped back cabinet. My bookshelves are Mourning Dove, and the insides are Oolong. And Bedford Gray and Spool from Lowes.
PLEASE!!! Park your paint somewhere and leave it! lol! Best paint ever!

Hi Martha, I just love seeing all of your blogs and am especially inspired whenever you post any about your fabulous items at Home Depot. I need to set aside a complete day so that I can get all of your fantastic things to improve my home. Actually, I would probably need a whole week!! These photos are so much fun with your favorite little shoppers included! Jan

Dear Martha,
I am a Kitchen Designer at the Auburn, MA Home Depot. We recently attended a "roll out" of your new line of cabinets, hardware and countertops with MasterBrand. I can't tell you what an exciting time it is for us as Designers to be a part of designing kitchens, baths and more with the MSL touch! I understand you had a personal hand making all the selections which are linked to your private homes as well. Customer's will be amazed at how beautifully detailed their kitchens can be with your corbels, shelves and embellishments. I can't wait to start designing!!
Best Regards,
Ruth

I love your new line and love the cleaning products. In some of your On-Demand features, there is a wonderful "wooden step" spice rack in the background (in her Turkey Hill Home, I believe). Can anyone tell me the dimensions or where Ms. Stewart had it made? I would love to have one in my home. Thanks.
