After transporting the horses from my farm in Bedford to our destination in North Salem, Betsy saddled them up. Here I am on Rinze.
And Betsy is on Ramon
In addition to Betsy, we were also riding with Muffin Dowdle on Biscuit, Emily Frick, and Jimmy Dowdle on Jet.
It was a pleasantly comfortable, nice, and brisk autumn day.
Jimmy on his beautiful steed, started the ride along the 'racetrack' on Baxter Rd.
We were also joined by Jenny Eckerson, who had just purchased a farm in South Salem, New York. Jenny, who grew up in Ireland, is an excellent equestrian.

And we're off! - Betsy and Jaclene Ginnel
That's Peter Hauspurg on Sky, Muffin, and Mark our trail guide - This trail runs through Windswept Farm, owned by the Colley's, who generously open their beautiful fields, woods, and streams to horseback riders.
We rode through Olympic medal-winning skater, Dick Button's, lovely Ice Pond Farm.
Ice Pond Farm has a wonderful old stone wall, built upon steep hillsides.
A view of Dick Button's house
And a view of his Barn
We came upon this adorable free-roaming Berkshire pig, who had a 'don't fence me' kind of attitude.
Dick Button is a great enthusiast of horticulture.

The trail took us to the Dubin Property, where Enrico, the barn manager and also an eventor, met us for a guided tour.
