Whole Living Magazine is now Available for the iPad!
We, at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, are pleased to announce that our magazine, Whole Living, the monthly magazine dedicated to helping readers maintain a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, is now available for the iPad. Whole Living, formerly Body + Soul, is at the forefront of the movement to live a healthier, more sustainable, and balanced life, striving for total wellness of mind, body, soul, and planet. Current print subscribers receive free access to the digital edition during their current subscription term. To download the free magazine Apps, go to the App Store on iPad or www.itunes.com/appstore. For more information about the digital subscription plans, click here.
1 Whole Living magazine has had many incarnations. It began as New Age Journal in 1974, later becoming Body+Soul in 2002, and then, after being acquired by MSLO in 2004, was rebranded as Whole Living in 2010.
2 Whole Living focuses on natural health, personal growth, and well-being. The May 2012 issue features spring cleaning tips from inside your home to inside yourself.
3 The May 2012 issue is the first to be offered in digital form on the iPad. It can be downloaded from the App Store. Individual issues are available for purchase for $2.99 or via digital subscription or, if you are a current print magazine subscriber, you may download the digital version for free.
4 The navigation of the digital issue involves a side to side swipe gesture to advance to the next article or a vertical swipe to read a full article.
5 We eat with our eyes, and these meals are certainly crave-worthy on the crisp display of the new iPad!
7 Touch the step-by-step button for comprehensive instructions. The large text makes it easy to read while in the midst of cooking.
8 We've also included some iPad only exclusives, like step by step tips on how to prepare fresh fava beans for this Roast Chicken recipe.
9 The digital issue has been optimized for the beautiful Retina display on the new iPad. This amazing screen has 4 times the amount of pixels of the iPad 2.
10 This month's issue has a number of healthy egg recipes, including an Herbed Ricotta Soufflé and a Sunny-Side-Up Egg and Baby Spinach Flatbread.
12 This month's Beauty section explores the idea of altering your beauty regimen with the changing of the seasons.

Thanks for making Whole Living available on the iPad Martha. Although I am old fashioned and like to hold my magazines, newspapers etc. in my hands and turn the pages, I do recognize the convenience and technology of beng able to access all of the wonderful information on my iPad, which I use more than my laptop. I'm downloading May's issue today!

Hi Martha,
I read the following paragraphs written by a heart surgeon in Health Impact News Daily just this morning and I immediately renewed my paper subscription to Whole Living. Unfortunately, I do not have an iPad although I think magazines in digital form are very nice and convenient. Either way, I love the recipes in your Whole Living magazine.

By Dr. Dwight Lundell:“There is but one answer to quieting inflammation, (in the artery wall which leads to heart disease, etc), and that is returning to foods closer to their natural state. To build muscle, eat more protein. Choose carbohydrates that are very complex such as colorful fruits and vegetables. Cut down on or eliminate inflammation- causing omega-6 fats like corn and soybean oil and the processed foods that are made from them.

What you can do is choose whole foods your grandmother served and not those your mom turned to as grocery store aisles filled with manufactured foods. By eliminating inflammatory foods and adding essential nutrients from fresh unprocessed food, you will reverse years of damage in your arteries and throughout your body from consuming the typical American diet.” Here’s a link to the article. http://healthimpactnews.com/2012/heart-surgeon-admits-he-was-wrong-about-low-fat-diet-and-heart-disease/

Hello to Martha and Everyone,
This is great! I had literally written two days ago and asked about the digital edition of Whole Living! I received an email in reply explaining it wasn't available in digital format yet. Imagine my surprise when I watched the show this morning and it was announced it is now available! I downloaded it during the show and can't wait to "experience" it later this afternoon or evening. Maybe I'll even find an idea for tonight's dinner! Thanks so much for making such a beautiful and interactive publication.

Will Wholeliving be available for the Kindle Fire soon? My daughter got me hooked on the magazine a few years ago, and now I have purchased a subscription for her, my other daughter and myself. Love it.

I havve been subscribing via Zinio and getting Whole Living on my iPad that way. Is that going to be transferable as I would much prefer Whole Living in a similar format to the Living magazine I already subscribe to via the App.?

I'm not writing about this, I just couldn't find an appropriate spot....Huge congtrats on your beautiful GK's win @ Westminster! We are on chowchow #4 & consider them to be the ultimate dog! Though our newest one can be a bit snappy-VERY JUDGEMENTAL!-more so than our others who never snapped, at least until they got so old their sight & hearing were impaired. Even so, we have loved all of them dearly Our 1st was a golden who was the last of a litter to be homed as was the owners child's favorite.
Had we known more, we probably would've been hesitant with him being in a home for that long. But he was wonderful! Then we got a little blue girl who thought she was a cocker spaniel! We bred them once because we felt that they personalities were such that they needed to be perpetuated. We had 7 gorgeous babies who, as my husband says, it would've been easier to adopt a human baby than what I put people through! I ran an ad for AKC Chow pups & these people would call & say, "Are they REAL MEAN?" To which I would respond, "We don't have any more puppies." They all went to good homes with no small children & I gave them away. Our oldest passed in 1998 & 1 month later, my husband was driving to work in the rain & saw another golden chow running through traffic with a half-chewed leash around his neck. We guessed him to be about 9 months old. He stopped & called to him & he came & jumped in his car. He brought him home & told me, "I needed him & he needed me." We had him until 2010. I had gotten a Golden Retriever because I was fearful of needing a service dog due to fibromyalgia & my sister had had one who was the smartest dog I have ever seen, & while my husband loved her(as do I) she just wasn't a chow. He was so sad without our BH that I just couldn't stand it. Found one to give him for Christmas last year, though a bit early. It healed his heart, though he allows Bandit to be a brat. I'm being too wordy, congrats, Camille Curd

Hi Martha,
First, I would like to take this opportune time to thank you for the publication issues of Wholeliving. I had been suffering from GERD. The recipes of healthy appetites has made a huge difference in my life and condition. It was the prescription I needed to become nutritionally inclined with my well being. I'm conscious of eatting healthier. I invested in a juicer too. Pineapples, papaya, kale, aloe vera juice, carrots, celery all the recipes in whole living is all apart of my everyday daily life now. I do not want to take medication for the rest of my life. Your kick starter recipes and go- between menus are the best. Now all i have to do is pay my dentist to complete the dental work (since the digestive system starts with the mouth) and part of this gerd condition can be remedied. I have been buying organic products too. Thank you MARTHA STEWARD... JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW I APPRECIATE WHOLE LIVING BODY+ PLUS SOUL IN BALANCE. HOPE YOU READ THIS ...
