I'm On Katie Today!
Today, Katie Couric’s entire show is devoted to weddings, one of our favorite subjects. Katie is in the process of planning her own wedding and I was happy to make an appearance and share tips, tricks, and great ideas with her and her live audience. Even though it’s the middle of winter, I showed how to decorate and set a fabulous table for a beach wedding theme. What’s wonderful about these creations is that they’re fun and easy and the supplies are readily available. I hope you can tune in to ABC-TV’s Katie. 1 Here I am with Katie Couric on the set of her show.
Many of the audience members were brides-to-be and Katie and I discussed how to go about planning for a wedding after becoming engaged.
Our escort cards were nestled in a bed of beautiful shells and were adorned with an adhesive pearl - cards and pearls from Martha Stewart Crafts.
For table decorations, we painted smooth stones and shells with gold Martha Stewart metallic glaze, available at The Home Depot. This water-based paint is infused with mica beads to instantly create a rich and shimmering metallic finish that can be easily applied with a brush or sponge. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Martha-Stewart-Living-10-oz-Metallic-Glaze-Medallion-Satin-Specialty-Finish-259291/202587641#
A sand-colored metallic fabric was used as a table runner. Pearly shells served as cellars for salt and pepper.
Smooth pieces of driftwood added to the beach theme.
These are the ingredients for the centerpieces - tall glass cylinders, pillar candles, sand, gold glitter, and gorgeous shells.
An assortment of shells makes for beautiful centerpieces.
The end result is very special with that glittery sand. Even the butter pats were formed in shell molds.
Gold paper flowers were made using Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors

Menu cards were downloaded from the Martha Stewart Weddings template. Each folded napkin was adorned with one of those gold flowers made with the Fringe Scissors. Guests names were hand-written on small stones. http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/225335/menu-template?center=0&gallery=228649&slide=225335
Here I am with our Weddings expert, Darcy Miller.
Jocelyn Worrall, Anthony Luscia, and Judy Morris worked together on these wonderful and creative beach wedding ideas.
Corked glass favor bottles were filled with edible sea glass and shells from Andies Specialty Sweets. http://www.etsy.com/people/andiespecialtysweets The bottles were tied and tagged with a sand dollar punch from my Crafts collection. http://www.amazon.com/Dollar-Starfish-Double-Martha-Stewart/dp/B002FW1CFS
That sea glass candy sure looks like glass!

We also used Martha Stewart Craft stencils to decorate tall glass cylinders with gold coral and shells.
Our specialty cocktail was a tequila sunrise, the glass rimmed with gold sanding sugar and garnished with a slice of star fruit.
Hydrangea confetti was made using one of our hydrangea craft punches. http://www.amazon.com/Martha-Stewart-Crafts-Hydrangea-Punch/dp/B002FW49V2
