1 Susan Ungaro, the President of The James Beard Foundation, was very busy this past weekend, with multiple celebrations for the James Beard Awards in the world of Culinary Arts. I went to a big dinner at the Gotham Hall on Friday evening.
2 Last Friday night's gala was called the 2014 James Beard Foundation Book, Broadcast & Journalism Awards Dinner.
3 In the category of Cooking From A Professional Point Of View, Heston Blumenthal won for his book, Historic Heston. Heston is an English celebrity chef and owner of The Fat Duck, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Bray, Berkshire, which has been voted Best Restaurant in the UK and received a perfect score of 10/10 every year since 2007 by The Good Food Guide.

12 I was so happy to get reaquainted with Susan Chang, a Boston-based freelance food writer and cookbook reviewer. Her father, Nai Chang was the art director of Abrams art books under my former husband. We traveled to China together in 1980!!!
