An Update on my Precious Cats
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love my animals. My dogs, cats, birds, and horses - they are all very special to me and are such wonderful companions.
From time to time, I like to share updates on my pets, so you all know how they are doing. So many of you have commented on how much you enjoy seeing photos of my cats. I currently have two dominant calico Persians, Princess Peony and Empress Tang, and one greenhouse cat, Blackie. Here are some of their latest snapshots.
This is Empress Tang. Tang loves to lounge in bowls.
But, it was time for her grooming. My cats are groomed every day - her long, beautiful coat doesn’t stay clean and tangle-free on its own. It must be gently but thoroughly combed and brushed regularly.
She actually doesn't mind it - Tang is very affectionate, and loves being gently brushed.
Removing matted fur is important because collected mats can cause skin irritations and hair balls.
Sanu combs the entire coat.
Including Tang's underside.
Her face is also wiped clean with a damp cotton pad - especially in between the creases of her face. This helps to prevent possible tear staining.
We just use a round cosmetic pad, and some room-temperature water.
After being groomed, Tang is ready to go back upstairs.
Sometimes Tang likes to rest under this loveseat in my foyer.
And at times, elegant Empress Tang is ready for a stroll. She and Princess Peony are seven years old. All the cats stay close to my house whenever they go outdoors.
When the cats are outside, I always leave the same two doors ajar, so they are able to come back indoors whenever they need to, and whenever they want to.
My cats definitely like their routines - they like to eat and go out at the same times, and they like to sleep and lounge in the same places.
My stunning Empress Tang - where are you off to now?
A clean and gorgeous Empress Tang - I call this "cat-a-mole".
My cats love their naps! Here is Empress Tang in one of the many pet beds I keep around the house. This one is at the top of the stairs. It is from the Martha Stewart Pets collection exclusively at PetSmart. http://goo.gl/lZNQca
Next was Princess Peony. My housekeeper, Laura Acuna, found her in the cool basement.
Laura dampens another cosmetic cotton pad to wipe Peony's face and ears.
Peony actually got a little sleepy while on the table.
My precious Princess Peony is a little more shy. Sometimes Peony enjoys the cool tile floors in the basement, or up high on a shelf, but she also has a comfy pet bed to lay in whenever she wants.
And outside, enjoying a little fresh air is our greenhouse feline, Blackie.
Blackie is so friendly. - he loves people and is always ready for a rub. Every day, he makes his rounds, saying hi to everyone he sees.
Blackie sleeps in my main greenhouse, where he loves to lounge on the table after his meals.
He doesn't even mind getting his photo taken - such a good kitty.
But, only a couple pictures - it's time for a nap.
