A Book Signing and Demo at Macy's Herald Square
My latest book, “Martha's Flowers: A Practical Guide to Growing, Gathering, and Enjoying” is an essential resource for anyone seeking advice and lessons on gardening and making the most of the season’s spectacular blooms.
Last week, Kevin Sharkey and I conducted a book signing at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City, their flagship store. We also made several arrangements inspired by the book. The event was held during the annual Macy's Flower Show - many people attended and we had a great time signing copies and talking with the crowd. Guests loved flipping through the collection of stunning photographs and reading some of the many tips and hints for how and when to plant and nurture flowers, and at the perfect time, cut from the garden. For those who could not attend, we put it all on Facebook LIVE. I hope you all have a copy of "Martha's Flowers" - you’ll absolutely love it.

- This demo also showed how to sear the steam’s end immediately in a hot flame to seal the latex sap that exudes from the cut.
