Located in downtown Atlanta, AmericasMart spans more than seven-million square-feet and houses the world’s single-largest collection of wholesale home, gift, area rug and apparel merchandise. This annual home event celebrates tastemakers, business visionaries, and innovators across seven-days.
AmericasMart Atlanta consists of four buildings. My interview was held in Building #3. The audience filled most of the 750-seats, and many more watched from the floors above.
Books were available on display for guests to purchase.
Margot Shaw, founder and editor-in-chief of “Flower Magazine” welcomed everyone to the discussion and introduced me.
We talked about business, my career and how I keep my brand fresh, and relevant.
I also shared some of my decorating stories and of course, what inspired my book, Martha’s Flowers”.
I also participated in a more intimate VIP book signing and discussion. It was so nice to meet so many people who enjoy my books – many guests bought multiple copies.
There were many refreshments including a selection of fruits, pecan and lemon bars.
There was also a selection of dessert cups – raspberry vanilla, tiramisu, lemon meringue and chocolate ganache.
For this smaller interview with Dana Andrew, from Dana Andrew Communications, I spoke about business and social media, and how technology has evolved businesses over the years.
Some guests brought copies of my other books for me to sign – it’s always so much fun to learn how my books have inspired those who read them. Here I am signing my 1987 book, “Martha Stewart Weddings” for Allison.
Here is a fun photo of our own Heather Kirkland and some of her friends who live in the area and attended the event – Liz Butler and her mom, Helen Butler, Heather and Rebecca Patrick.
Here I am posing with Helen while signing her copy of “Martha’s Flowers”.
I signed more than 100-books for the event.
I always try to stop for photos with anyone who wants one – it does slow down the line a little, but it is a detail that’s very important to me.
This gentleman gave one book as a gift, and kept another for himself.

And one more photo with Margot.
Afterwards, we stopped at Star Provisions Market & Cafe. I had been to the store before at another location and was interested to see its larger and more expanded shop. http://www.starprovisions.com/
The bakery at Star Provisions carries a variety of freshly baked breads, cakes, cookies, pies, and pastries.
There were lots of delicious sweets including these colorful macarons.
These breads looked so delicious – I just had to buy a couple loaves.
There was also a very nice selection of artisanal cheeses.
The shop was filled with shelves of interesting gourmet food items, cookware and other kitchen supplies.
The cafe was very roomy and bright – a nice place to gather for breakfast, lunch and dinner on a hot summer day. It was a quick but very fun day in Georgia.
