At a party hosted by my co-CEO
Last weekend, Wenda Millard, MSLO's co-CEO, hosted a party for 50 of our advertisers and advertising agency guests. It was a really lovely evening and the food was delicious, being catered by chefs from Daniel Boulud's Feast and Fetes. Come and have a look!

Martha do you ever stay home one night ever? Curlers in your hair and a time when you eat something you shouldn't like ice cream right out of the carton? Just one time, please tell me you have done so in your lifetime lol!
Enjoyed your photos.

A friend of mine from Canada who is a Martha fan wrote this poem for you the other day Martha.
Martha oh Martha can you help me...Please!
The cat’s popping furballs
The Dogs scratching fleas!!
Company is coming and the house is a mess!
My hair’s still in rollers
And I’ve ripped my new dress!!
The toilet is plugged and the phone rings non-stop!
The turkey is overcooked
And it’s gravy looks like slop!
The potatoes and carrots are burnt to a crisp!
My head won’t stop spinning
And I’ve developed a lisp!
I can’t order in cause my credit card’s maxed out!
This party is a disaster
I’ll be embarassed, no doubt!
I want to hide in the closet, take the phone off the hook!
Curl up with a glass of wine
And read a good book!
Maybe they’ll get lost or have a big fight!
Or maybe get sick
And can’t make it tonight!
Please help me Martha, what ever can I do?!!
Has something this nasty
Ever happened to you?
You’re Martha Stewart, my mentor, my queen, my godess!
With you it’s all good things
No disasters, no mess!
Please answer my plea just as fast as you can!
It’s bad times like this,
I wish I were a man!
Yours truly,
the Unhappy Housewife!

That's a novel party activity; a farmer's market to shop from. I wonder how the idea was presented to the guests? Did they clean out the mkt? I suppose with the price of good produce these days, it was very well received (even by this elite group). Looks like fun.

Hi, Martha,
Sounds like a fun party! The bounty in your farmer's market overflows the table. What a selection for your guests to choose from as they depart.

Martha, your quite the Party Girl! Your best color to wear must be brown. You always look so nice! I was wondering? Whose home are you having the party at and what are those pottery looking cone shape dishes in the kitchen? I think I noticed some bricks on the cupboard. Are those used with the cone shaped dishes? What are the chefs cooking in the cone shaped dishes. I'd sure like to know.
I just love your blog and seeing your pictures of your life after work. Thanks Martha!

Did you notice the comment under picutre # 15? It says "the produce is from Martha's farm". I thought Martha was the one who wrote for the blog. Slip up?

Martha,
This kitchen looks a lot like mine. I'm wondering what the counter tops are made of...the sink and what is used for the backsplash? I'm in the process of selecting a backsplash and I like this one. I also noticed the knobs and faucets are brass.......nice to see something other than chrome! Thanks,

Martha,
I hoped you included the "rocchetti with summer squashes and sweet corn" in the recipe box. I never did find the rocchetti but I did keep the road warm running to our rural neighbor's produce stand for on demand picked corn. Wonderful flavors, great recipe. Now the corn is gone.
Thanks.

And how many snacks did you give to Kelsey? Wenda has a great kitchen; I see she has room for all her cookbooks and I like her untreated windows that let in the light.
The food must have been delicious cooked in those tagines. Did you have lamb with pears by any chance?
Great pictures Martha and I'm sure everyone loved the fresh vegetables from your garden. I know I would have gone gaga over them! Trish

Being a strawberry-blonde, my mother dressed me in m-a-n-y brown outfits, and Martha, brown DOES become you! (as a previous blogger posted). I've noticed too, recently, your many outfits in the brown/bronze tones...they look great with your hair, and I estimate(?) that you have brown eyes(?) too. I'm a "gold girl", too...gold-tone jewelry looks the best on me, in spite of the white-hot metals that are soooo in style right now. (I can pull it off [wearing silver tones] with blacks and greys...)
How neat that the veggies and such are set up market-style (with baskets while perusing the selection). Everything looks so fresh! Once again, done Martha-style!
...How can you (one) go wrong?!!

Hi, Martha,
I could not watch today's program because NBC put "Jane and the Dragon" on my station. I called my local station to find out what had happened. The woman who answered said that children's programming had to be aired so many hours per week, and NBC in New York had decided to replace "The Martha Show" with "Jane and the Dragon." The local station manager did not take my call. ????????????
I hope this program is aired again.

Choosing your own favors from a farmers market set-up at the end of a party is one of the best good things ever. grandmajo

It looks like it was a fun evening in a beautiful home.
I have to admit however, to looking at the gorgeous kitchen cabinets and thinking : "I sure hope she's got those cabinets with her cookbooks (I assume that's what type of books they are behind the chefs), duly bolted to the wall. I had almost identical kitchen cabinetry and, after more than one warning from my dh about kitchen cabinets not being made to hold the weight of books (and my ignoring such ridiculousness), they fell right off the wall while I was gone one day. I came home to a HUGE mess of scattered books, broken countertop items, damaged plantation shutters where the edge of one cabinet lodged, and broken glass and leaking balsamic vinegar.
I'm just hoping she told the installers that she intended to put books in there!
