Getting the Acorn Award

On Saturday, September 27, I had the great pleasure of attending the 10th anniversary Founders' Dinner of the Native Plant Center,  a project of the Westchester Community College Foundation in New York State. The Native Plant Center (NPC) was founded 10 years ago as the first recognized affiliate of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas by Marybeth Weston Lobdell, Marie Smith Schwartz, and Betsy May Stern, who were members of the Board of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in 1998.  There are now 22 national affiliates. I am so happy to report that I was presented with the NPC's new Acorn Award, which recognizes an individual or group that inspires people to learn about native plants and to grow them in their own environments. With that being said, please enjoy my photos of the event. For information about the Native Plant Center visit HERE.
