Victoria Secret Models, Paris Hilton, and more of my photos from the grand re-opening bash at the Fontainebleau Hotel
Update: What do you think was the most exciting aspect of my trip? The new hotel? Backstage with the models? Seeing a certain celebrity? Let me know and make a comment below!
This past weekend, I flew to Miami, Florida to take part in the unveiling of the newly refurbished Fontainebleau Hotel located on Miami Beach. This iconic landmark resort, originally designed by legendary architect, Morris Lapidus sits upon twenty-two acres of spectacular oceanfront. Full of glitz and glitter, the Fontainebleau was a popular destination for anyone who wanted to see and to be seen – a totally glamorous hotel. But, as with many things, age took its toll and it was time to return the Fontainebleau to its famed glory. The New York architect, Jeffrey Beers, was hired to update the vast interior of the resort and it’s just amazing!
The unveiling included a series of lavish parties plus a taping for television of a Victoria’s Secret fashion show. It was so much fun being there. Please come and have a look for yourselves.

Hi Martha,
Fabulous photos and there's lucky Kevin with you again! You looked stunning as usual. The rain room was something else; I'd like to see that one day. I was in Miami on Saturday but the Fontainebleau wasn't open to the public until Monday I think someone said. You had some nice weather although hotter than usual on Saturday. Thanks for posting your great pictures. Trish

Your life is crazy, Martha!
One day Maya Angelou and the next Victoria's Secret and Juicy Couture.
I guess variety gives that spice to life!!

Does Martha ever feel like NOT going out?
What does she do then?
Perhaps she sends Kevin with her apologies.... I wonder if Kevin ever feels like NOT going out.
I suppose in the end it is just part of the job.

Hi Martha, WOW! I am totally overwhelmed! I have never been to such an exotic event {and probably never will be} that lasted the whole weekend. How did you ever have time to do anything else while taking all of these 206 photographs?! Your photos are absolutely out of this world. You look stunning in all of your outfits. This was really an outstanding, mind boggling event. Thanks so much for taking all of us along through you eyes. It's easy to tell that you were having a fabulous time. Thanks again for sharing. Jan

Martha:
My guess for your favorite part of your trip to the Fontainebleau Hotel would be on the Pink Carpet. As you were a model yourself (and still are) you can relate to the models of Victoria's Secret.

I'm guessing by the great photos, that your favorite part was being backstage.
Thanks so much for sharing all of this. I feel like I was there!
What a marvel! So many creative people working so hard.
Thanks again!!
What a stunning dress and necklace. So elegant!

Martha,
Although it is always fun to see your gorgeous outfits and the famous people you know, the very best of your blog is getting to see the myriad design, style and architectural details that I would probably miss even if I was there.
It takes expert, curious and keen eyes. It is a great new source of inspiration.
Thank you so much for sharing.

In response to your update, I read that you wanted to take a nice long walk on the beach while in Miami. With your busy schedule I doubt you get to do that very often, so maybe that was the most exciting part of your trip. And then there's George Hamilton! Trish

Hi Martha, What was the most exciting aspect of your fabulous trip to Miami? I would have to say that the most exciting aspect was actually all of it, because through your wonderful photos, you made it all exciting for all of us to see and read about. My favorite photo was the one of you and John Stamos. Have another great week. Jan

Wow, what a fun trip this time around.
I would think the most exciting aspect of the trip would be meeting all those fabulous celebrities - George Hamilton looks great by the way.

If I had to be stranded forever on an island with either Perez or Paris, I'd take Perez. At least I'd die knowing all the gossip.

I agree, Martha you looked as fetching as the models in that outfit of yours! I do love a fashion show.

Martha, you are a MESS - a wonderful mess - rubbing elbows with all these celebrities! Gee whiz, I just got thru the first batch of photos - the ones behind the scenes - SO MANY PHOTOS! - so much fun! You looked fabulous, donning those gorgeous smoky topaz nuggets, too! (I LOVE brown!) I see you had your beautiful Nantucket basket clutch - how befitting, to complete your total look!
You said yesterday on your show with Snoop Dog (I'm a day late here in posting from yesterday's blog) that you had a weird life. NO YOU DON'T! (I'd be exhausted, on the other hand, but...) You have a wonderful life, and I'm appreciative that you allow me to share in it thru your blog offerings each day. On yesterday's show when you were hiking Maine's shoreline, I had already "been there", thru your sharing with us on your blog a couple weeks ago. The film was even better than the photos - OMGoodness, what natural BEAUTY the Lord has made! Breathtaking! What a treasure!
(...as I switch gears, here...) In my humble opinion, there is nothing that shapes a woman better than a Victoria's Secret bra! I personally am a VS fan and wear many of "her" products. They make you feel good underneath! [grin]
I can't wait to see the actual fashion show...here I go to see those pictures! (Don't be surprised if I have to comment twice today!)

Caught your show this morning. Was surprised to see a recipe for macaroons did not include coconut. Barb Gold

Dear Martha,
I am very glad that I signed in just a few weeks ago. I'm learning how to bake and found your cooking lesson very very helpful specially the lesson that you taught with Sharon Stone. I always watch your shows as much as I can but really find your website very good bec. I can repeat the videos again and again...Thank you very much and I know your show will still help me a lot in many ways not just in baking. Again thank you and God bless.

Dear Martha,
My favorite sighting was you!
While out for my early Saturday morning walk with a friend on the boardwalk in Miami Beach, I saw you walking towards me!! I think I interrupted your quiet walk with my goodmorning and apologize if I startled you. But it made my day to see you in person...I started skipping.
Love your show and all.
I was not aware that you had this lovely blog and will check back more often.
Regards,
GEP
