Our American Made Cocktail Party was held in New York City's One World Observatory, at the top of One World Trade Center, on the 102nd Floor Horizon Level.
Here was a view looking up to the top of One World Trade Center from street level. It is the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere, and currently the fifth tallest in the world - so amazing.
Name tags were neatly arranged and distributed to guests on the ground floor.
Up in the Observatory, the space provided floor to ceiling views in all directions.
The day was overcast, and a bit foggy, but the views from the venue were magnificent. If you look in the center of the photo, you can see the Statue of Liberty on New York City's Liberty Island.
A beautiful view of the Hudson River and the West Side Highway. This road is officially called the Joe Dimaggio Highway and is a surface section of New York City's Route 9A. It runs from the southern tip of Manhattan up to West 72nd Street.
Last minute preparations were underway in the space. Here, meat was being sliced for the large charcuterie board.
Small slices of bread were also cut fresh for this event.
Here was the charcuterie board filled with delicious meats, and breads.
Oysters were shucked for the many guests expected to arrive. The big stainless steel bowl holding the oysters is from my farm.
Here I was with Chef Pierre Schaedelin of PS Tailored Events. He always prepares such wonderful dishes and hors d'oeuvres for our parties.
Some of the cheeses included Ewe's Blue from Old Chatham Sheepherding Company, Pleasant Ridge Reserve, Extra-aged from Dogeville, Wisconsin, Bardwell Manchester from Vermont, Harbison a soft bloomy cheese, pasteurized by cows, cheese from Greensboro, Vermont, and Hudson Flower, a soft sheep cheese.
