2015 American Made Awards Cocktail Party

Our fourth annual American Made Awards and Summit celebrating entrepreneurial spirit kicked off with a spectacular cocktail party atop New York City’s One World Trade Center building.

Last week, we all gathered at One World Observatory, an event space offering panoramic views of New York City, and its surrounding waters from above 1,250 feet. The idea to hold the event there came to me during a visit with my grandchildren. Jude, Truman and I were taking a private tour of the One World Trade Center building with Richard Porteus, General Hospitality Manager at Legends, the company which operates the event space. After seeing the seemingly endless views, I immediately thought One World Observatory was the perfect venue for our gathering - and a perfect symbol of American pride, determination and entrepreneurism. Richard and I worked together to ensure the location was available for our celebration, and that all its details could be followed as planned.

It turned out to be a wonderful event. Thanks goes out to all the food purveyors: PS Tailored Events, Watch Hill Oysters, Grand Central Oyster Bar, Murray’s Cheese, Charles Smith WinesThe Meat Market, and Fire Roasted Catering. I was so excited to host our party from One World Observatory - and once you see the following photos, you will understand why.

Tomorrow, I will post photos from Saturday's American Made Summit - a day-long program of informative, lively conversations with industry experts and innovators, and successful small business owners. It was a wonderfully enlightening and inspiring day. Enjoy our photos.
