Horseback Riding in the snow! Read The Original Post

Here I am standing on one of my mounting blocks.
Success! I'm in the saddle atop Rinze.
Kevin atop Miendert.
me, Kevin, and Betsy (atop Rutger) ready to go.
Passing through the wetlands of Cantitoe.
This is the contemporary house on my property. I hope to remodel it someday.
We headed through the fields because the carriage roads were very icy.
Into the woods
We emerged at the compost area. See the heaps covered with snow.
Is this Egypt or Cantitoe?
Before crossing the stream, Kevin's horse stops for an icy drink of water.
Meindert doesn't want to get his feet wet.
All the horses needed refreshment.
passing through woods
entering one of the pastures
a beautiful contrast of snow and black
here's Betsy
here's Kevin
And here I am.
Going through another thicket.
It seems so dark for the morning.
Betsy in her winter gear.
We encountered a lone opossum - interesting because they are nocturnal animals.
Obviously, it isn't happy.
Here it goes, running away.
This is the trail head off of Maple Ave.
Look how long the shadows are - the sun is so low on the horizon. Thank goodness, the days are getting longer now.
Entering Lyon Ridge Road. That's Betsy on Rutger.
