You can now watch all my wickedly wonderful Halloween transformations on the new MarthaStewart.TV App!
I've always loved Halloween. As a child, I enjoyed trick-or-treating and visiting homes decorated for the occasion, especially those that spooked and delighted young ghouls and goblins. As an adult, I still love to dress up - in the least, with a bit of special-effects makeup and tinted contact lenses. From costumes, to décor, to frightfully fun and tasty bites, my colleagues and I have always made the most of Halloween!
This year, to help get your celebration off to a "spook-tacular" start, download my new MarthaStewart.TV App. The App features all your favorite spine-tingling tricks and delicious treats from my library of television shows. And remember, it's available for Apple, Android, Amazon Fire +, Roku and Chromecast devices! I hope it will inspire you to do something new this season. Enjoy these photos and be sure to click on the video's arrow at the end to see more terrifying transformations. For more "Bad Things," download the Martha Stewart TV App. Happy Halloween!
At this Halloween party, I am dressed as a many-plumed bird. As elaborate as my costume looks, complete with a nest on my head, it was actually one of the quickest to create and put on.
Many viewers have asked me to offer this very early episode. It features adorable no-sew children’s costumes.
“Welcome to Turkey Hill!” Later in this episode, unsuspecting treat-or-treaters approach the front door of my Westport, Connecticut home to receive quite a fright!
Want to skip pre-packaged candy? My classic Peanut Brittle recipe comes together with minimum toil or trouble!
In this episode, I hosted my annual Halloween party as one character, a fortune teller, but my young guests decided to make me over – into Mummy Martha!
Meet my dear husband, Frank. He’s the strong, silent type. We’re pictured in our well-appointed potting shed turned laboratory, surrounded by some of our most useful possessions – test tubes, newt brains and electrodes.
Can you guess what we used for the nails on our “Ladies’ Fingers” cookies? Download the App and watch this fun segment again! You can arrange these devilish digits as we did and stick them in a container filled with crushed chocolate cookie dirt!
Here I am wearing one of my several pairs of special-effects contact lenses. They complete this fetching “Mistress of the Dark” ensemble. My pet spider, “Beauty”, took her position atop my wickedly-webbed jeweled veil.
Whether spiked with spirits or not, my Halloween punch always leaves your guests frozen in their tracks!
My television crew enjoyed the pun costumes segment – here, the gentleman are “Pigs in a Blanket”. Wear one of our ideas to a party, and you’re sure to be noticed, even if the reaction is hearing your friends groan.
This is still one of our most popular, most requested children’s costumes. This chicken costume is so fun, and can be passed between families and friends since it’s suitable for young girls and boys.
Ahoy, Matey! It’s Red Pirate Martha and a crew of ship rats! As always, my crew got into the spirit – this time on our pirate ship themed Halloween episode.
Looking for a new way to prepare a seasonal classic? My deceptively easy Apple Pizza Tart, which uses a pizza wheel to serve with a large dollop of vanilla ice cream, remains a big fall favorite.
I’ve demonstrated numerous pumpkin decorating ideas over the years. Our “Celestial Pumpkins” are truly beautiful, bringing festive lighting to an indoor or outdoor autumnal display.
Sometimes I need a hand, or a handful of bandages, to prepare for a monster mash bash! I’m happy to announce many of my seasonal specials may be streamed on the App. Here I am with Brendan Fraser of The Mummy trilogy.
Not to be outdone by my famous guests, I’ve branched out into film roles myself. Here I’m costumed as B-movie queen and lepidopteran, Motha, complete with platinum-blond wig and a six-foot wide wing-span!
I’ve been fortunate to work with talented costume and makeup artists over the years. One such opportunity was for the cover of the Halloween magazine as the “Black Widow.” We filmed the entire transformation; watch behind-the-scenes on the MarthaStewart.TV App!
As you can see from the scar on my neck and my blackened tooth, one doesn’t need an elaborate costume or heavy makeup to create an alarming impression!
Halloween is but one autumnal celebration. We’ve also shared episodes filled with fall-themed décor and projects, comfort foods, and delectable desserts.
And here I am as a creepy “Glampire”, complete with my dramatic black cape made from black silk and woven with metallic threads. I wish you all a frightfully fun Halloween. Enjoy my ideas and tips for this and every season on the new MarthaStewart.TV App!
