12 Sarah Kosikowski and Derek Poirier, presented by Valrhona North America served The Golden Ticket - Otucan dark chocolate pot de creme, mango pearls, dulcey almond banana Rocher, and coconut Opalys whipped ganache, inspired by Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
13 Mindy Segal of Mindy's Hotchocolate, Chicago, prepared brown sugar Tcho chocolate chip cupcake with vanilla bean and malted milk liquid center and assorted variations of chocolate chip cookies, inspired by Stranger Than Fiction.
14 John Suley, presented by Celebrity Cruises, served hamachi crudo with Osetra caviar, cauliflower, shiso, and lemongrass, inspired by Eat Drink Man Woman.
15 Gabriel Rucker of Le Pigeon, Portland, OR served acorn crépes with buffalo heart and corn, inspired by Dances With Wolves.
16 Grant Achatz of The Aviary, Chicago served 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Cocktail, inspired by the movie of the same name.
17 The 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was a concoction of seaweed, lychee, oolong tea, and gin and served from these nautical-looking vessels.
18 Melissa Perello of Frances in San Francisco, prepared butter-poached chicken with spring onion and creme fraiche soubise, inspired by Napoleon Dynamite.

30 David Chang of New York's Momofuko Ko and Ma Peche, was honored as one of the nation's most outstanding chefs. Chang has won three previous Beard awards, including for best new restaurant for Momofuko Ko in 2009 and rising star chef in 2007.
31 Sharing this prestigious honor with Chang was Paul Kahan of Blackbird in Chicago, who said, "You can't beat Chang, but a tie is OK."
